Polanski made 2 stupid stupid decisions. from what i understand, everyone at the party was doing drugs voluntarily, and the victim engaged in sexual activity voluntarily. however, as we all know, a 13 y/o CANNOT consent. first stupid decision was having sex with the girl, second was fleeing. He should have had his lawyers deal with it then, instead of now.

The waxworks were an immensely eloquent dissertation on the wonderful ordinariness of mankind.

reminds me of that quote - "There is no such thing as a mistake. There are things you do, and things you don't do." i mean, he was 43 at the time.

what is your favorite film directed by polanski?

Even the prosecutor in the case isn't saying that. Look up the facts, you'll be amazed.

Gosh, I would never criticize your sound advice but I was hoping you'd suggest I steer away from overrated directors. It was so excruciatingly boring. But the Academy will probably toss a nomination at Abbie "Not Resse" Cornish because in this one scene she totally breaks down and weeps herself a river. Anyway really friggin boring movie. Maybe Keitel could have kept the audience awake...

Good call on Roxy, as always.

Floop, have you ever seen the movie COPKILLER (AKA Order of Death AKA Corrupt) with Harvey Keitel and John Lydon? It's really weird.
