This has to be one of Franks most fun songs.
That's what I really love about these early Frank records. They are done with such a sense of joy and fun in both the music, attitude and lyrics.
This song has such a bad ass start, strumming on that F chord and that wicked little guitar refrain (wah, wah, wah), which if you have ever seen Frank play live, he mouths.
I have really started to notice that on this record away from the pixies, Frank really starts to use alot more of the F chord, which I think wasn't as prevelent, which makes for a bad-ass record.
I can't wait now to see what this new EDF record is gonna be like.
Fave Line: "let them grow out, in time you'll feel so better"

They're playing my favorite song!
I can't think of a better sung "oh yeah, alright." He just sings those oft-sung words so nicely.
I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

I like these threads. They make me question what I like about a song but in FB's case, most of the time there's so much I could say you'd probably fall asleep. This is another track with so much going on. Frank's vocal delivery / the subject / the lyrics / the structure / the production...
Occidentally tic-tac is a fun thing to sing. Even now. Some want him to sing and sound like the Pixies. I'd want him to sing and sound like the orange album. Just for a while. |

If we keep going in order we will at some point get to that.
I love the sax in Fu Manchu, however; good stuff. |

My favorite part is the "ah-oooos"
Amazing how a non-word can have such a strong effect on me! |

I love this for being one of the two Madness influenced songs on the album (Everytime I Go Around Here being the other). I was in my early teens when Madness released their first couple of albums, the perfect age. They were from my neighbourhood too. I almost wish he'd asked Lee Thompson, their sax player, to guest on the record, that would have been great. I once read Frank played a ton of Madness while in the studio recording Orange/Yellow, he was trying for that Madness chunky pop sound which EDF definitely delivered. Not cool to mention them these days but I couldn't give a toss. I love 'em!
