I think this is one of his most under rated songs. A great composition and chord structure. Anyone who plays guitar will tell you how good it feels to play this song. It is fun and just moves beautifully.
The subject matter is cool also. Referencing the ramones as a girl. It is often a song that makes you wonder about a love you have had, thats great lyrics. Open to your interperatation.
Favourite line: "they'll pull another menuda, they'll pull another menuda, they'll pull another menuda"
"If all you've seen, is violence!" |

Was just listening to that album today and thought similar thoughts about that song. Thanks for the thread.
I remember sitting in a basement listening to Fields of Marigold until I passed out.

It's never made me think of a girl or love (except for the love of music and being engulfed in it).
Favorite line: The speed they're traveling They are the only thing

This is not my favorite song, but the lyrics speak to me on a more personal level than any other FBF song. Not so much the the Ramones part although I do love them, but having music be my friend. It was often the best friend I had. That is what I take from this song, anyway. It is kind of funny that it is not necessarily one of my faves, because at times, the way I think about, it is my favorite FBF song. Not sure that made sense, but whatever. |

The only thing I really like about this song I hear when it's played acoustically. It's got a kind of get up sit down repetition that children like to hear in songs. Yeah that's it, it appeals to the kid in me.

I do like it but not as much as Los Angeles.
If I had a favourite line it would be the same as yours. That's my favourite part of the song. |

I really can't think of a favourite line, the intro does it for me every time though!
"The arc of triumph" |
