just started watching the dvd's. really like it. good history lesson. now i can better understand my gramps.
interesting story. i was at a work conference and my boss was talking how she really likes the show. we were having some beers and there was some good buzz about it at our table. so on the plane ride home on air canada they had mad men on the monitors. the guy beside me said what did you think? "i said pretty interesting stuff. very nicely done." he said, "you might not believe me but i'm really good friends with the creator and screenwriter- matt weiner. he started giving me some inside scoops about the show. really interesting. he said he was from la..was in vancouver for work..then off to winnipeg to work with frantic films. he seemed legit. the show originally got turned down by hbo and then picked up by amc. the person at hbo then got canned.
just finished watching the 4th episode.
