Been wondering what happened to those CBC tapes of FB's recent trek through Canada? Me too. Very angrily.
Apparently, they're bringing them out on June 14th, according to Exclaim, on Just Concerts @ 10 PM.
St. John's - 106.9FM Halifax - 102.7FM Montreal - 93.5FM Toronto - 94.1FM Winnipeg - 98.3FM Regina - 96.9FM Edmonton - 90.9FM Calgary - 102.1FM Vancouver - 105.7FM Victoria - 92.1FM
Check out: http://www.cbcradio3.com, and in particular at http://www.cbcradio3.com/issues/2003_06_06/index.cfm. They have a cool pic of FB and will probably also have the concert online there. If not, then hopefully it will also be online at: http://www.justconcerts.com too.
Brought to you by C, o, F, and the number 3. |

Sweet. I'm going to record that one. Maybe put it on the FTP site if the quality is good enough. Radio broadcast=ok according to->Dave Noisy. |

has anyone listened to the show yet? amazing. and i thought the slim's show was great. the sound is fantastic. you can access it at http://www.justconcerts.com/concerts. i am about halfway through the show and can't get over the sound quality.
i just got back from france for a little holiday. beautiful country. couldn't get massif central out of my mind. but unfortunately didn't make it to the hills of central france. stayed in southern france. it's great to come back and hear more fb&c's live. |

Yes, this show is pretty amazing. The sound is iffy in places, but it's all made up for by the fact that I was at this show, which makes it incredible. Wow... |

Well, that's cool... I forgot about them adjusting the sound. And I can hear myself yell after the first track. Just a 'wooh', certainly not 'rock & roll'. |

Sorry, Mere, must have posted right before me... converting to MP3s can be done with something called Streambox, though I use a program called Audio Stream Recorder which came with my Audigy 2. Unfortunately, it just cut out because I ran out of disk space. Bah. |

If you have a program that you can choose the recording source to be Wave out, then you can also just record the output as you play, which is what I'm now doing to finish off the concert since it stopped right at the end of Sir Rockaby. So RealPlayer is playing it, and my recording program (CoolEdit) is recording it. But any other sounds that might play (including mail, ICQ notifications, etc) will end up on the recording, so it's not the prefferred method unless you're doing absolutely nothing else. |

If you want to wait, I'm probably going to u/l the show to the FTP site, but otherwise, happy encoding. :) Dave, send me a private message and let me know when I can put it up (shouldn't be a problem as it was played on the radio and is quite available on the net). |

Jeez the intro to "Where is My Mind" is horrible. Dave and Rich(?) can't get the timing right. I guess everyone has an off day lol.

Yeah, pretty funny. There was another song that was kind of butchered a little bit, too. They were in a good mood though, and Frank even laughed off tripping over the monitor and falling gracefully backwards onto it. And I was thinking in my head, "Crap, no encore". I really wish they had recorded the Saskatoon show, though, much tighter, and they played the most amazing version of Bullet / Gouge Away yet (I don't care for the organ in the Regina show that much). And Freedom Rock kicked some serious #$^@. |

I've heard up to Freedom Rock (I'm pretty sure it was Freedom Rock, it was late at night) and then I lost the connection. I think it was about an hour in. Can someone list the rest of the set?
thanks |

No, the bunny costume is why I pay you. Everything else is just lumpy gravy. |

I imagine that making Dean the personal hub for Frank Black trading would be quite the strain on his bandwidth (and we all know what happens when you pinch people's bandwidth, we don't want anyone to get smoten, here), not to mention his time. If this show, which has had all the leg work done (recording, encoding, splitting into seperate tracks with tags labelled) is put on the ftp, then everyone can enjoy it. And it certainly deserves to be there, as it is a radio show, not a boot and is really, really awesome. Perhaps someone should be in charge of running the content of the ftp in some capacity.... |

... sounds like you're volunteering. :)
To be fair, though, there are other reasons why the Regina show hasn't been put on the FTP site for FB.net, but rather than rub in everyone's face that we have some information that they don't, I guess Dave decided to just drop the issue for the time being. |
