Anyone else having problems viewing/interacting with bf-dot-net 2.0?
It takes forever to load on my computer and then usually just freezes up, so I just close it down. This has been happening for days and isn't getting any better = annoying.

Yeah, doesn't work at all for me either. It's painfully slow on Firefox and it doesn't even load up on my old version of IE at work.
Plus, I can't log on to the wall thingy. I keep getting an error message.

Bump.
The site is terrible in terms of user friendlieness. I can't even log on to The Wall to leave such a comment. Nothing works, the browser stops and doesn't respond whatever section I try to access. I mean it seems to have potential and looks like it could/should be good - but I've just given up on it.

There is a constant "E_NOLOGIN_ACCESS" message on top and the pages take ages to load. Can someone email Mr Bureaucrat? I can't get the contact page to load.

The videos are really cool - they seem to be pro-shots, in that they are good quality and from different angles. Rockefeller Skank (Sp?) was up before and now You Can't Break A Heart And Have It is up, definately worth checking out.

It's that concert that was filmed in Amsterdam, isn't it?
Good setlists, and the band were good. Lots of energy. Left me a bit cold, really. All that 'frontman' theatricality too. |

The site looks pretty bad on my PC. When will the webstore be back up?

The webstore is still there only the link normally appears on a bar at the bottom of the site. Seems your computer has edited that part out for you.
I guess the site is in flash or something because there is no separate url for the store to give you. |

Yeah - i was at that show. http://vimeo.com/11635531
Excellent gig, odd setup with Frank puting down the guitar after the acoustic intro then going all Iggy for the rest of the show.
To be honest my favourite bit was the acoustic part. He came out and launched into abstract plain. It was a beautiful version, and it was a beautiful moment. Could have been the bud, but i sure was misty eyed. IIRC he closed the acoustic section with a powerful Velouria. Good times. Met Ding and Charles before the show too, they were great. Good memories. |

Fyi, y'all, the site is going to be revamped very soon. Thanks for your patience. As a matter of fact, there will be an "under construction" temporary site up for awhile, with a link to the store and a link to the player, but that's about it. Feel free to suggest here about whatever. We want to especially make the site iPad and iPhone friendly; we'll probably do an app version, too.

Sounds cool! I wish I had the time right now to do more here but it's still in the cards... looking forward to the new site.

bfnet:
We’ve sold out of our original limited edition run of “Abbabubba: b-sides, remixes & demos” (only 250 copies were made initially) and they’re currently unavailable and out of stock.
However, on March 15th Abbabubba is to be released & distributed throughout the US (along with The Golem – rock album & The Golem – DVD). These albums will also be made available for digital download for the first time ever via iTunes or your favorite digital music vendor.
The Black Francis web store will also soon be offering Abbabubba’s second pressing CD’s, which have changed slightly from the first pressing (including a higher quality disc).

also be aware (not sure how this does/doesn't relate to going "big time"):
The Black Francis web store will not be shipping orders between March 16th and March 27th. You may still place an order during this time, but please note, it will not ship until March 28th.

Pretty stoked about the news. I'm getting all choked up. The Bureau! They grow up so fast. This deserves its own thread, methinks. |

"Black has also said that though the Pixies are planning new stuff, it won't be coming out on The Bureau. He said of this: "Pixies will either do something really traditional, with a big old record company, or something a lot more radical. Hopefully the radical approach. But The Bureau has other things on its plate."
That seems like pretty big news. "new stuff" could mean anything, but still interesting. |

I liked this line: "The label's first releases will come from Jeremy Dubs and former Captain Beefheart collaborator Eric Drew Feldman"
Has EDF ever done any solo stuff? Don't think so.
[edit] Nevermind, I hadn't read the Guardian article.
