my age...doesn't matter...old enough to sometimes forget...or be off by a year and not matter much
the avg age of a FB fan is somewhere between 7 and 44
the over under for Pixies fans is 40
I hope teens pick up on "Blue Finger" though. It's really what the kids should be listening to instead of disney rap acts.

So you're 48, then.
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

I like that the thread starter has exactly one post, and it's this ancient thread :-P
My average age has gone up significantly since 2007.
I had a bad reaction to your public hobby writings. |

the REAL question here is how the average age of a Pixies fan compares to the average age of a Pixie
----------------------- Q: Where do Pixies keep their instruments when they're not playing? A: Debasement. |

Might as well keep it going, mostly harder to believe the threads older than many new fans might be lol.
I'm 30, didn't discover the band until Doolittle went up as DLC for Rock Band in 2008 when I was 19. That shit blew my fucking face off and I had no idea I was going to reduce my 12 foot list of favorite bands to just one. Lucky me, they were already back together by then. |

I'm 29, got into Doolittle around age 15 as I was a diehard Nirvana fan from 12-14. FMRM was the first FB album to be released during my fandom. |

i got into the pixies quite late (late 90s, after death to the pixies and debaser). frank black solo even later. must've been around the time of the pixies reunion and frank black francis/honeycomb.

37. I got into the Pixies in 2000, when I was 18, and Frank Black the next year. I was a Nirvana kid and knew of the Pixies via the Cobain quote since I was probably 14 or 15, but didn't have the disposable income to risk on a CD I hadn't heard anything from. But then, Napster. I remember staying up all night babysitting my downloads of Surfer Rosa over dialup and listening to each song as it finished. I didn't like it or dislike it right away, but I was intrigued by how fucking strange it was. Also confused, because it didn't sound like Nirvana at all to me. |

44. but didn't really get into pixies until about '91 when I heard Planet of Sound on a sampler tape put out by a local radio station. it was a fun backwards journey from there! That was one hell of a tape - got me into a lot of cool shit back then. here's the track listing: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Free-At-Last/release/5991113 |

40. Pixies fan since the reunion. Discovered the band on P2P also. Bone Machine-Dead-I Bleed. Then bought Doolittle out of curiosity and immediately fell in love with the band.
Bought Trompe after reading this website: http://www.ed-wood.net/ed-disco-trompe-le-monde.htm & http://www.ed-wood.net/pixies2.htm and learned about Frank Black here: http://www.ed-wood.net/frank_black1.htm . Really good french website with nice readings about Pixies & Frank Black. I wonder if the author ever posted here.
I still have a lot of Frank Black stuff to explore.

52 to this December. Doolittle came out just after I started listening. Spent a lot of time surfing other sites before FB.net came into existence.
It has been all good times.

50. Liked the Pixies since about 1989. Never had a chance to see them back then. Then bought TOTY, I think through one of those record (CD) club deals where you got some lame album if you forgot to cancel it in time. Then at some point ended up on this board after knocking around a little on the Yahoo group. Saw Frank Black several time when living in Southern California. Then finally got to see the Pixies in one their first reunion shows as they prepared for Coachella (in Davis). Show actually sold out quickly, but someone (Puck or Puckhead) on here sold me the ticket at face value. |

You're a baby. I was born three months before Frank as it turns out. I was busy being born on the day Dylan recorded It's Alright Ma. When I was ten days old my dad swore he took me out to see Churchill's funeral procession but my mum swore he didn't. Never did get to the bottom of that one.
