"Show Me Your Tears" is a fantastic song. Weird that it never made it on an album -- and yet the album it seemed destined for was named the same.
There's a perfect explanation for the shit that I've been in. As soon as I find out, I'll let you know. |

We did that once in the "Baker's Dozen" game, but I can't remember any of the answers.
Time to dig out that petition to have Snake Oil and One More Road For The Hit released on CD...

Guided By Voices' Alien Lanes, Bee Thousand and Isolation Drills were named after songs who didn't make the album.

Rambling off topic as usual, but ...
Originally, the U.S. version of Elvis Costello's "This Year's Model" didn't include the song "(I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea)", which is where the phrase for the album title came from.

Also, Elvis Costello's "Imperial Bedroom" originally didn't include the title song. Although, it was included on the reissue.
In the liner notes he said that songs with the same name as the album have too much to live up to, so he decided to keep it off, as he liked the title for the album. Or something to that effect. |

There was also a song called Do The Collapse, which, as I'm sure you're already aware, did not make the album of the same name.
Beck had a song called ONE FOOT IN THE GRAVE, and the song did not make it onto the album of the same name. |

Sorry to totally derail your thread, soundgarden. Probably more to the point, these were songs that deserved an official release -- they're WAY too good to be relegated to a cheesy iTunes-only thing. They come up on my iPod when I shuffle my FB tracks, and I never feel like they're non-album tracks.

FB seems to have a habit of leaving off great tracks that would grace an official album release. to think Debaser could have been left off Doolitte... |

Unthinkable! Hardly an original opinion, but let's face it, it's not just the best song on the album, possibly the best Pixies song!!
"I hate how the reptile dreams it's a mammal. Scaley monster: be what you are!!" - Erebus. |

I think so too (memory forgetting Letter to Memphis and Motorway), but it could have been oh so different. |

and if that recorder hadn't been on, we'd never've heard those brilliant college demos
Strawberry Fields Forever and Penny Lane were left off Sgt. Pepper; George Martin's "biggest mistake of his career"
/edit - some grammatic errors; must not irritate da gramma poleese/

Martin didn't like Within You, Without You at first, but later conceded that it was "a very good track indeed."

Blind Melon's Soup did not appear on the album "Soup"
I have always liked album titles that show up only as one line in a single song on that album, like Pistelero or Steely Dan's Katie Lied. "Katie Lied" is a line in the song Dr. Wu. |
