I'm not giving in to the peer pressure. The Crocs stay on my feet.
I'm glad I don't wear convrrse anymore. Chucks have the worst arch support ever.
I did have a pair of black Chucks I wore forever and got signed (one one each shoe) by Dave Wakeling and Ranking Roger of General Public. I'm not making this up.

I have a sinking feeling that I threw away the shoes, but I'll check and see if they're in the back of my closet still. I'll post a pic if I can find them.
I saw them live around maybe 1995 as General Public, but about half the set was English Beat songs. Awesome show. It was a festival and the lineup was something like Chris Isaak, Sonic Youth, Matthew Sweet, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Belly, General Public, Elastica, The Pretenders, and Duran Duran. I dunno, I might be combining 2 festivals - the memory is fuzzy. everyone was great except Duran Duran, which is the worst show I have ever seen of any kind in my life. Everyone walked out and booed them (they were the last act).
But the GP guys were just hanging out on the concourse and I recognized them and got them to sign my shoes! Being a huge Beat and GP fan, I was just thrilled to see Beat songs played live, but to get the sigs was the gravy on the cake.

I was thinking of getting these, but they're $50, and they're hard to find.

my cousin (or 3rd cousin i think) was one of the first investors in crocs, and i had to think:
who in their right mind would invest in those ugly ass things?
but now he's like, loaded.
