It has to be Sad Punk. Love that song. Been blasting TLM on the car stereo the last week. Still sounds fresh to me.

Man of Steel is badass.
So is Solid Gold, I Want Rock N Roll, Suffering, Massif Central, Czar, So Hard Make Things Out, Cult of Ray - all super-badass. Some of my favorite frank flavors are of the badass variety.

Seriously...I wish I was a Pixies fan in junior high and high school. All I liked was nerdy stuff (i still do), and I think liking Pixies and Frank would have given me more confidence.
Bullet (anyone mention it? dont remember) also counts.

Two Reelers comes to mind. I would like to see Frank team up with some true metal musicians. Anyone else? Any ideas for metal musicians that would be a good fit? |

Just before the release of Trompe Charles was fucking with the journalists saying it was gonna be a metal album. Then when Planet of Sound was released as a single it went straight to number one on the metal chart. The power of suggestion.

Tame, Dead, Threshold Apprehension, Freedom Rock, and Cactus. I am sure I will think of more. And if i repeated your answer, then it just proves it is a BAD ASS song.

I was gonna go with just one, but right away a few more popped up in my mind.
I Switched You (original choice)
Parry the Wind High, Low
Suffering
Steak N' Sabre
I love this part... Yeah, we did it! |

I feel like 666 is too goofy and light hearted. It just sounds like Frank is having a fun time with his band. Doesn't make me angry. Makes me feel pretty comfortable. |

I know what you mean, Jordy. But it's still a pretty badass song. The way he screams in it is pretty badass, if you ask me. :) |

I think some of the live versions are more badass than the studio one. Especially that lovely drunken version. "Sisss, sissy, siss!"

Noooo way, he LAUGHS when he screams in this song. That's like polar opposite of badass. When he screams in say, Pixies songs, it scares the shit out of you and sends chills down your spine. This one it's just a big goofy joke.
I do agree that the live versions I've heard have been more sinister and scary. |
