When I'm listening to my IPod there is a short gap or pause between songs. This is very annoying when you are listening to a complete album that's loaded on there and one song flows right into another.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed?

Should have googled first/ Found this:

Many music CDs contain tracks that seamlessly transition from one song to the next. Importing these songs into iTunes may create annoying gaps between these tracks, and these gaps are carried over when you copy songs to your iPod.

How can you fix this? Follow these steps to use the iTunes Join CD Tracks feature to create gap-free tracks.

Insert the audio CD in your Mac
Notice that the songs on the CD are listed in the iTunes window
To remove the gap of silence that normally occurs between songs, select two or more songs and click on Advanced - Join CD Tracks to combine them into a single track
Click the Import button to add the songs to your library

Can I remove the "gaps" between songs on the iPod?

Yes. Starting with iTunes 7, the program automatically scans all songs in its library and enables gapless playback for albums that were intended to not have silence between songs.

If iTunes 7 does not automatically recognize an album that you would like to have playback without gaps between songs, select all the songs in the album, select "Get Info" from the "File" menu, press "Yes" when it asks "Are you sure you want to edit information for multiple items?", select "Yes" under "Gapless Album", and press "OK".

There is an unacceptable gap between songs in an album.
In order to make individual tracks available for sale on the iTunes Store, songs are separated by the record label at the time of encoding. To minimize the gap, set iTunes' preferences for crossfade playback. If you're burning your purchased music to an audio CD, set the gap between songs to "none" on your Mac or Windows PC.

My purchased songs bleed into one another.
To increase the amount of time between songs, set the crossfade playback to 0 seconds to ensure your music plays without fading between songs.

Changing the gap between songs when you burn a CD
When you burn a CD, you can set the length of the gap between songs.

To set the pause length between songs:
Choose Edit > Preferences.
Click Advanced and then click Burning.
Choose a setting from the Gap Between Songs pop-up menu.

The total estimated time shown in a playlist window does not include the gaps between songs.

If you choose the Audio CD radio button, you can set how much of a gap to place between songs. Just choose an interval from the Gap Between Songs pop-up menu (the default is 2 seconds); for live albums or audio that plays continuously through multiple tracks, choose none to nix all gaps.

I know it was obnoxious, but I figured if someone else was having this problem I could provide a number of different insights found amongst the internets.

Next week's Q&A will be about the proper way to brine pork.
