Hello, This is Brent again. I just wanted to say it’s great to see the enthusiasm everyone has for this project. Thanks for the kind words. Now about that tracklisting…
The complete tracklisting for the Frank Black chRISTMASS bonus DVD is… um, not sure if this needs a drum roll or not.
1. Brackish Boy 2. I Burn Today 3. Cactus 4. Nadine 5. Holiday 6. Sing for Joy 7. Dead Man’s Curve 8. California Bound 9. Ed is Dead 10. My Life is in Storage 11. ???? 12. Whiskey in your Shoes
Okay, so I lied. You don’t have the complete tracklisting yet. Some of you eagle-eyed readers may have noticed track 11 is filled with question marks.
“What gives Brent? Why the question marks? Frank Black doesn’t have a song called ‘????’”, you may be saying to yourself. Well the truth is, this CD/DVD still has at least a couple weeks (as far as I know) before it’s available. So I thought I’d leave one track unknown for now, a mystery track if you will.
And it’s a good one.
Cheers. Brent

I really want to reiterate how awesome it is that people like Brent (and Miles, and frnk) contribute to this site. It makes the forums seem more like a community and less like a bunch of crazy fans. Thanks a bunch, this sounds great I can't wait to see it! |

IMO the Pixies tracks should've been left off, but the rest looks stellar. Brackish Boy, yummy...

Thank you again, I'm definitely looking forward to this (I must have missed that he was playing Whiskey In Your Shoes - I love that song!). Let us know as soon as you can on the mystery song so that we can put this tracklist in the news.

Okay, there goes my surprise. Yeah Frank is right, 'Los Angeles' is indeed on there. You have to click on 'Play All' in order to see it. That's not the 'Mystery Track' however. I'll post that soon, unless Frank beats me to it...

The Cooking Vinyl website indicates that the DVD is NTSC format - does that mean that the Europeans here are going to have to do without? |

That's what everyone's wondering, check out this thread:
http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17299&whichpage=3
I asked CV about it but they weren't more specific:
<<I have checked our system and confirm that the DVD which forms part of the Frank Black, Christmas album is only available in NTSC format. I'd suggest you check your DVD player regional settings before buying this item if this is going to be a problem.
If you find your player is not set-up to accept NTSC format DVDs you may want to take a look at www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks, which contains instructions on how to convert your player so that it will play DVDs from all regions. It's just a string of numbers that you punch into your remote which tells your player to ignore the format information. We don't endorse the site - it's just a suggestion.>>

As far as I know, unless it's particularly old, most AV equipment sold (in the UK at least) is capable of displaying NTSC format recordings. I know all my stuff does and it's all getting on a bit now, relatively speaking - TV 6+yrs/DVD 8+yrs - even my previous TV was fine with an NTSC signal. So I would guess there's not too much to worry about on that front.
Just looking at the reply from CV above I would seriously doubt that the DVD disc will be region coded given that CV are the only ones selling this worldwide (I think that's correct). Their advise is a little confusing because region coding and NTSC formatting are two entirely different things.
The Cooking Vinyl website shows the artwork for CD cover but there is also a card slipcase that the CD goes inside.

Thanks for the info. That's what I thought too but I got confused by their message indeed.

Anyone notice that the menu music is in fact "Radio Lizards"? |

Well, it's only half of Los Angeles - maybe that's why it's not in the menu. But it's a good version to have on DVD anyway!
