I understand, IceCream. Everybody I hang with is outspokenly anti-Bush, but I haven't boycotted any friendships, though a few of them no longer speak to me, mostly for my vehemence against the Clintons. I have no problem with the opinions of the guy/gal on the street/web. But celebrities have the soapbox and the responsibilities that go with that. Being a gifted, or not, artist confers no authority on matters political, but it does misbegottenly confer influence with those lacking ideas of their own, who unfortunately make up most of the voting herd. I do my small part to diminish that influence, and, more relevantly, I can’t experience their art apart from their politics. I can’t see Martin Sheen and Susan Sarandon the actors, or Chrissie Hynde and Michael Stipe the rockers, without also seeing the soapboxers as well. My loss. As I mentioned, I often overlook it, as with Moby, in his case because I really can’t take his philosophy of life seriously but can still enjoy some of his albums. It’s like, we know Bobby Fischer is deranged, but would that put us off his chess game? But some of these other folks have credibility with the masses and that creates potential for abuse. I boycott those with mass appeal that I feel should know better.

The greedy, chessy Christmas TV ads are making me hate the 'season to be jolly' already!

Burger King.

Last year I found a blue thing (looked like wadded up construction paper) in a hamburger. I politely brought it to the attention of the store manager who refunded me, but I demanded it be examined by the health department. I took names and addresses, and left my information as well. To make a long story short, the suspect meat was conveniently 'lost' by FedEx, and never made it to the health department in Florida...however they suspiciously tracked it as having arrived at said department. As an 'apology', I was sent coupons for free hamburgers. FUCK THAT!

Those coupons will probably end up in another burger.

Haha, Homers, only spotted that typo now! By the way, my favorite board game is Chesse.

I more or less boycott tv...although I admit there are a few good shows, in general I can't stand it. My parents never had tv reception at their place and I thought when I moved out I'd think differently, but now I'm just glad they kept me away from all that junk (I most defiantly won't pay for it at mine)

that´s one of Donald Rumsfeld´s gifts to the world. He was chairman of Searle when the guys who developed it told him it needed to be tested more, too dangerous etc. so he fired them and replaced them with folk who´d say yes.
