So who else thinks this is the total shite?? I'm firing my drummer as of now.... Currently hoarding loops and building tracks. My love of analog is being swept away. Multi-Tracking that's shareable over the web is a the Next Big Thing. agrophobes welcome =P

I actually had heard it was pretty useless and I know it's quite deficient in the filters department, but I'm also looking forward to playing with this. In fact I may try it for some of our upcoming podcasts since it allows chapters...

It seems like it's pretty easy to work with, but I think the drums patterns are a bit limiting. I don't really know squat about it, so I could be way off.
maybe I'll kick it

Chapters would certainly be nice. That way, I could skip the useless banter and go straight to the FB songs.

You and many others...
For those wanting to listen to the podcast again for certain songs I think it would definitely be the case that they would like to skip by us. I'm just not sure how to go about taking an MP3-based feed and adding the M4A option to it.

I'm really just getting started with it, so I'm sure to come across some limitations as I progress. You can't change the song tempo on the fly, for example. Yet for the kind of stuff I do, I'm getting fine results. I really like being able to track something straight out of itunes, such as a podcast or radio station, then mess with it from there. I'm about as far from being a recording engineer as one can get, yet this app makes it pretty easy to pretend. Plus, it's just a lot of fun....

An early Holiday gift for everyone.
For your enjoyment (well, mainly mine), I've run 'The Water' from the WOXY broadcast thru garageband and did some dubs as a pet project. If you're a willing test subject, please burn this file to disc and let me know how it sounds on anything you end up playing it on. I've got crap for monitors, plus I'm a total noob as to the black arts of Multi-Band Compressors and Peak Limiters, yet I think I've got something worth checking out... Like It, Hate It, Love It, Leave It, ... all opinons welcome....
Thanks in advance.... BW http://www.sixthstation.com/fb/thewater.mp3

Very cool, S n S. You have a gift. Part of me thinks we mortals shouldn't be messing with The Man's work, which is Perfect (upper-case Perfect, like words in the bible relating to God and Jesus), but hey, it's just a pet project, and it sounds great. I'd suggest one thing, though. There was another radio interview (or was it the same one?) where he toyed around with calling it "Come On In, The Water's Fine." He also said those words when he played it in Portland the other night. It's on a YouTube clip that was posted yesterday, I think. Anyhow, it's be cool if you added him saying that at the very end. It'd go great with the water sounds.
You should also post this in the thread for the song, by the way (http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17307). I think there's a lot more traffic there, and it'd be a shame if lots of people didn't hear this.

This is something I did in a few hours with Logic Express (not with garage band, but hey, on a Mac!) It's all just loops but it is kind of neat. I still haven't bought a mixer to hook up to my Mac.

Thanks, Steak n Sabre, I like what you're added. The guitar parts compliment the song well. |
