I taped it off the live webcast. Very cool. solo acoustic renditions of "The Water" "That Burnt Out Rock and Roll" "Cactus" "Been All Around The World" "Raider Man", and lots of pleasant chatting with the DJ. I can upload mp3s if the station doesn't archive it soon.

Great interview. The DJ really knows his stuff, and managed to avoid all the lame questions that usually get asked. Frank really seemed to repond to him.

I agree, coastline. That was the coolest radio interview I have heard with FB. The live preformances rocked and the questions and answers were cool. I think my favorite part was FB explaining the origins of the songs. Man, what a heck of a radio show. |

He's on fire!
This version of 'That Burnt Our Rock And Roll' would sit happily on a record. Or a b-side (you know they're the best ;) |

It's a great interview, but it's really a great station as well. No surprise that they did such a good job. So many of the Lounge Acts are great. |

Yeah, I'm very impressed, really great (nice catch, FnW).
Note that radio appearances and places where FB is getting publicity should go in the FB Making Noise section instead of Live, however.
I'll be putting this in the news tomorrow, it's a must-have I think. My respect to the interviewer.

Could someone please give me a hint how to download this webcast as opposed to just listen to it via the quicktime plug-in in my browser? I want to have it on my iPod.
Thanks guys. |

Should I post my recording of this? I captured the live stream to wav, then converted to 192k mp3 (as opposed to the available 128k). Also, I split up the tracks, so for example you can add "That Burnt Out Rock and Roll" to your ipod without messing with all the interview and other stuff. Also, I included the non-Frank songs at the end that he references.

That Burnt Out Rock N Roll is so awesome... who the hell else pulls songs out of the Smithsonian? He's pulling shit from everywhere! Seriously. "Oh I was at a coffee shop and I heard this cute little 3 year old girl humming a song. I asked her what it was and she said she just made it up. I recorded it with the band the next day at a studio in Madison".
maybe I'll kick it

That was a really great show. WOXY is the best thing you can get in the web. Now, what made me really excited was the fact that FB mentioned my town, Sao Paulo (Brazil). He must know that he has a very solid fan base here, that a gig would easily sell out. For us here in Brazil, it was very surprising that the Pixies came in 2004. It'd be wonderful if FB came. We don't get that kind of concert here very often. Well, if he's really willing to come, just let me know if he'll need a roadie or tour guide. I'd be more than happy to do it!

THANK YOU. This interview is so entertaining and the performances so good that it really does belong in my dorky Frank Black bootleg collection and the way you've split the tracks up makes it even nicer.
I appreciate it. This is very kind of you. |
