As if this isn't going to be the funniest thing since... well since the last thing Christopher Guest did. And frankly I would laugh at Ricky Gervais reading the phone book. Becuase I'm an idiot, presumably (there Tre, I saved you the trouble).

I'm so jealous of the festival attendees who have already seen this. I think the Guest directed ones have steadily improved, from Guffman to Best In Show to Mighty Wind. Mmmm. Can't wait.

Y'know, I never saw Guffman!

One of my favorite scenes in A Mighty Wind....

Leonard Crabbe: [Leonard shows Mitch his model trains] This whole area here is called Crabbe Town. We've got a brothel down there above the saloon. And right down there further along I'm thinking of building a French Quarter. I've actually got a bit of French blood.

Mitch Cohen: I would love to see this town in the autumn. I think Crabbeville in autumn would look quite magnificent. I would have made tiny little leaves, oak, poplar, maple, chestnut, and spread them across the town of Crabbeville. Magnificent.

Leonard Crabbe: It's Crabbe Town, not Crabbeville.

Thanks Speedy, I'm way too busy to be hyper-critical at the moment and would have been super miserable to hear I'd missed such a cheap shot.

Idiot.

Saw it today. Loved it. Takes a bit of a serious turn at the end which I thought was cool, Guest seems like he may be trying to move a little beyond the mockumentary thing. For all you Ricky Gervais haters don't fret, he's only got minimal time on the screen. I think I'm in love with Parker Posey.

Very fun film. I'm partial to GUFFMAN, but it is nevertheless a gem. I too am crazy for Posey. Did you know she was at Frank's 40th Birthday Bash?

You two stay away. She is MINE.

And I concur with the Ricky love, he was great and they probably should have featured more of him.

Just watched this now (have Rocky Balboa for later, what am I doing sitting in wathciong movies on a day like this?!), it wasn't brilliant but a lot of it was funny, with the great performances you expect from these guys. And the deleted scenes were also top stuff (including a Gervais crack-up scene). I think I just fell a bit more in love with Parker Posey, if that's possible. Apparently, she has a twin brother, so I might loosen up sexually. ;)

"Aw yeah, that's the good stuff!"
