An absolute disgrace, whatever people think about file sharing I think most people accept that tablatures are a completely separate issue. Tablature websites do not infringe on intellectual property because what they distribute is not the same product as that manufactured by companies selling official musical scores, it's a written interpretation of how a particular song is played, completely subjective and often wildly inaccurate. No doubt the companies who manufacture official sheet music lose profits from tablature websites, but they lose profits from completely legitimate competition. I feel the NMPA and their like miss the point by assuming that any loss in profits caused by an unofficial website constitutes illegal activity, in the case of tablatures it undoubtedly does not. I strongly hope any case they bring against websites like olga.net is defeated, otherwise the law is upholding profits without principle.
