Pure speculation but from my estimation i think he is returning to some of the themes on doolittle. E.G Ozone layers, ecology, possible reference to man going back to the sea.
I don't know but that's the picture i get from some of it, but the thoughts / ranger verses i have no idea, but i what i do know is that they are cool lyrics which go perfectly with music that surrounds them.
Absolutely love this song, it is so full of melody. plus it's one of Frank's longer PIXIES songs which is great. Gives loads of time for Joey at the end to do some great extended outro. Good question. |

Definitely one of my top 5 Pixies faves. Always thought it was about an alien flying around in a UFO - very X-filesish. |

I see relativity, extra-dimensions and surrealism

No idea what it's about. But it's absolutely one of my favorite Pixies tracks. Joey's insane explosive licks...Everybody Rock Out...fantastic dynamics...oh wow! |

To me it's a song about going in space, orbiting around the earth, landing on the moon, possible space travel for everyone in the future, etc... |

"I read how some artist - Man Ray, I think - did a photographic portrait of a famous actress."
"Words of the man Ray."-Space Is Gonna Do Me Good (although that's almost certainly referring to Bradbury!!).
"Like "All Over The World" It's total spontaneity, just screaming and jumping around, and the end section goes into a whole other song. Our producer was really pissed because he didn't know what was going on."
"Everybody rock out!"

you left off the most important bit of the quote...
But I didn't either! I said, 'Look. I'm a surrealist, plus I'm lazy and full of shit, so let's just see how this comes out, all right?' And in the end, it was his favourite song |
