I first saw frank on a tour supporting dog in the sand and I dont think I have been to a show where frank was selling t shirts. It would be great if he sold them on his current or upcoming tour. Just a thought. My suggestion, something simple. No tourdate on the back. those shirts are kind of lame. but i would probabl still buy one.

Put them kids to work, Charles- designing and selling your concert shirts. Put me down for six each L's and XL's. The little artists could even add a few bucks on for signed versions.

How about a badge or two?

You can buy all sorts of dodgy nonsense on ebay.

I've been told there will be a merch table on his fall tour, though no details of what is to be included. Quite likely just CDs.

I'm too young to know what you're talking about Tony but I'm going to presume it's funny and laugh anyway.

But in the end the whole idea will be scrapped because Dean insists that the t-shirt be made out of baby seal fur.

That thin cotton shit is the best. It makes you feel like you got gigantic pectoral muscles. I mean I'm benchin' 480 so I don't need the re-affirmation but the chix dig it, I do it for you ladies.

the last time Frank sold T-shirts (the Pixies excepted), I think, was 1999. I still have one and wear it every now and then, even though it's developed a hole in one of the armpits.

Does anybody remember some article awhile back where an interviewer asked Frank some random questions about things that annoy him (and Frank actually gave detailed answers)? I remember he talked about condescending record store clerks and rock band stickers. He mentioned how his label or his management or somebody had once pressed up a bunch of Frank Black & the Catholics stickers (for promotion or sell at shows or whatever). Frank said that when he got them, he threw them all out. He was so tired of seeing rock band stickers all over the place when he'd play clubs every night and didn't want to be seeing HIS band's stickers all over, either.

Maybe this anti-advertisting attitude (see also "I've Seen Your Picture") was a part of why the Catholics stopped bothering with T-shirts.

I remember that and there was a line about not being able to use mirrors in clubs because bands cover them with stickers. And may have also been the article where he praised hotel bars.

i got a "show me your tears" t shirt from the corresponding Uk tour, i will get a photo up of it later tonight, it is a very pretty top, with the lovely cats, i think it cost about £10 (at least to the best of my knowledge)

the shirts from his first tour rule. one had a big f on the front and a b on the back. and insdie these two letters were "frank black" in lots of cool fonts. then there were these weird ones that said "bas is frank" and "fas is frank" respectively.

I'm laughing out loud. Swish? Genius!

I think we should try to make forum shirts through Cafe Press - that way you pay as you go, and we can offer all sorts of options.

Ya, I am a genius. In the sense that I can watch a television show (ie. the Simpsons) and contextually use qoutes from that show (ie. swish). I also threw a little metric (not the Emily Haines variety) in there. To show my range. And this is morbidly off-topic (like morbidly obese, except related to off-topicness), but I dig on your blog and I left a few comments uder different names. Hint: the Dave Grohl one. Another hint: I'm not the long-winded French wacko.
