I am wondering what is the deal with this song. I have a version of it but I'm not even sure if it is real lol. I know I've seen it under pixies lyrics sections but i googled it and I saw other artists names aswell so I was thinking maybe it was a cover? If someone could clear up the whole thing for me I'd be grateful.

It's a cover of a song by The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, that appeared on Rubaiyat, a double album of cover versions performed by Elektra artists to mark the 40th anniversary of the label in 1990. Actually, according to Pixies - Debaser: A Small Pixies Site, it was written by Nicholas Gravenites of the TPBBB, and Black Francis possibly changed the lyrics to resemble his own life a bit:

When I think Gravenites, I think Cipollina. And when I think Cipollina, I think Quicksilver Messenger Service. Rich roots. Cipollina, Alvin Lee, Roy Buchanan, Johnny Winter, Randy California, ... them other white boy guitar wizards. The shoulders of giants.
