If you could pick one painting, regardless of price, to adorn your walls, what would it be. Where would you put it?

Mine is probably Georges Seurat's Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. I don't know why but it just captivates me.

Fire Side Angel, or L'Ange du Foyer, or ?Hausenangel? by Max Ernst

"One painting I did after the defeat of the Republicans in Spain was 'Fireside Angel'. Now this was naturally an ironic title for a sort of ungainly beast that tramples down and destroys everything in its path. It was the impression I had at the time of what was likely to happen in the world, and I was right."

There are probably still prints at Le Foundation Maeght. Anything by Surrealist period Ernst or Dali, like the Persistence of Time, would add some of a necessary type of space.

Nice going, Dean. I've spent the last three hours trying to decide between Ambrogio Lorenzetti and some of Botticelli's more obscure paintings. Bastard!

I have a print of Courbet's L Origine Du Monde on my wall. The original would be nice. As would Bonjour Monsieur Gaugin.

My mouse is broken so I can't right click: no pictures for those of you who don't know them.

I'd like a painting of me reclining at the edge of the ocean at dusk w/ the waves crashing over me while I'm massaged and fed berries, and there's some kind of grotto around us, and Frank Black & Kristin Hersh are singing a song ( and you can tell just by looking at the painting that they're singing Siouxie & the Banshee's "Kiss Them For Me" ), and also there's a big fireworks display.

too hard to pick up just one, so I'll chose three:

Pieter Bruegel the Elder
"The Triumph of Death" (1562)

Kasimir Malevitj
"Suprematism: Rött och svart kors" (1918)

Francis Bacon
"Man with Dog" (1953)

William Kentridge's Sleeper

I once went to an auction with the hope of buying a signed print of this. It fetched 5 times the price I was able to afford.

Hey, Cassandra, Bacon is incredible. I'd love to have his portrait of George Dyer or Two Figures sleeping.

Tough.
