Since it's probably a bit pointless starting a thread about every single new film that comes along-I mean, it might be of interest to you, but not so much that you want to kick off a topic about it-I thought maybe we could do one for films that you're kind of looking forward to.
The Fountain-Darren "Pi, Requeim For A Dream" Aronofsky's fantasy film about a man's 1,000 year search for the secret of eternal life. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett were originally going to star in the roles played by Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz, but the director and Pitt had creative differences and what was originally going to be a $75 million dollar was eventually made for $40. Aronofsky wrote a graphic novel, illustrated by Kent Williams, that has been available for a while.

The Departed-Scorsese's remake of Hong Kong cop thriller Infernal Affairs, which I haven't seen and might check out before seeing this.
Here's a high resolution trailer:

...It's a little slow to download, you can watch it at smaller sizes here:

I am counting the days for the release of The Prestige. Christpoher Nolan's new flick. I loved Memento, Insomnia, and Batman Begins. It's a great trailer and I can't wait till October for it. http://www.apple.com/trailers/touchstone/theprestige/

Really?! Is Film 4 only free on digital? Maybe it can be tuned in over here. I'll have to check it out.
Useyourname, yeah, that could be good-another Nolan/Bale/Caine collaboration! There's another magician movie coming soon called The Illusionist.

It's on Sky, and as far as i know it's on ntl. I think Chorus only have Sky Movies. There's ment to be ways to get all those channels for free, you just have to "know a guy".
What do people think of Nolan's first movie, Following?

I haven't seen it. I was gonna see if I could tune in Film 4, I just have the extra channels we get here with the ordinary televison setup, which include MTV, Discovery, Nicolodean and Sky One/Sky News etc.

I got that "Complete Masterworks" dvd a few years back, it had the short-lived tv on it. Hilarious stuff. I hope they nail the D's humour in the movie

I really don't think they will better the original 'Infernal Affairs'. Not sure about the casting for the two lead roles either.

The original Infernal Affairs is a must see. See it before you see the tarted up Hollywood version.

The new bond trailer looks pretty interesting - could be that we're veering much more in the direction of the Ian Fleming version. I'm much more excited for this than I was.

The Host: South Korean monster movie that's generating a bit of a buzz (a certain North Korean monster is doing the same at the moment-in the voice of Ben Elton: "bit of politics, ladies and gentleman!"), looks like a bit of a laff. Trailer in various sizes and formats here:

Yeah, I enjoyed it, although it felt it was a little drawn out. Porbably becuase I was expecting two hours of non-stop monster action. |
