Fawlty Towers. That's probably got a lot to do with it finishing after 12 episodes and not getting a chance to become crap.

The Office and Extras, although they are almost unbearable for me at times.
Sopranos and Six Feet Under, although they are not exactly sitcoms, are they?
Friends? A few years ago it was my sitcom of choice.

The boy is right as much as it kills me to admit that.
Also great however are:
Peep Show Phoenix Nights Black Books Father Ted
and I quite liked Nathan Barley and the IT crowd also. There's more I'm sure, it'll come to me.

Blackadder is way up there, but I agree with a number of already-posted suggestions!
Oh wait, don't forget Only Fools And Horses-and does The Simpsons count? Two of the best series ever.

That's why i said "sometimes". The only episode that i could watch over and over again is the one where Ray's mother makes the vagina sculpture. It doesn't always do it for me though.

Sitcom? How Dare YOU!. It's a serious drama with adult themes and Eddie Murphy saying "mothafucka" in an old mans voice.

You often do nowadays. I think you moving near him has made you grow similar. Kind of like husband and wife.
My favourites are:
Seinfeld Alan Partridge Nathan Barley Garth Marenghi's Dark Place The Simpsons Family Guy South Park Fawlty Towers Only Fools And Horses The Mighty Boosh Cheers Peep Show The Office

Favorite current sitcoms: -- Simpsons -- Family Guy -- War at Home -- Bernie Mac
Favorite old/cancelled sitcoms: -- Night Court -- Cheers -- John LaRoquette Show -- Seinfeld -- Friends -- Murphy Brown -- Growing Pains -- Who's the Boss? -- Mr. Belvedere -- ALF -- Different Strokes -- the show with Snyder (can't recall the name...) -- Facts of Life -- Silver Spoons -- Family Ties -- Mel's Diner (or ALICE, or whatever it was called...) -- Full House -- Family Matters -- Perfect Strangers
Sitcoms I can't stand/hated in the past with a passion: -- Designing Women -- Golden Girls -- the Mommies -- Dinosaurs -- that show with the talking bunny puppet (kind of like a cross between ALF and Married...with Children)

I was just watching a marathon of Three's Company earlier. That's a great show. Come and knock on our door... The Office is great, too. I don't really like the original one, but I've only seen it a few times. Curb Your Enthusiasm? That counts, right?

I used to like Friends and although I still do it has become almost unwatchable for me due to the endless repeats on channel 4. Black Books is probably my favourite. Just because each episode is as wacky as the last. Bernard Black is a great character! I like Red Dwarf, Father Ted, South Park, The Office (the proper one), Phoenix Nights. I also love Fawlty Towers but I'm glad there are only twelve episodes.

One Day At A Time?
With Eddie Van Halen's former wife Valerie Bertinelli?
My list:
Cheers...absolute all-time favorite. Classic. MASH Seinfeld Are You Being Served...again classic. Never tire of the Mollie Sudgen and John Inman jokes. Current shows: I love Scrubs...it bums me out that all this CSI and reality crap gets more Neilsen ratings (which is the only thing that keeps a show on the air).

You know I've never seen what was supposed to be funny about Only Fools and Horses. Everyone always spoons off about how it's the greatest sitcom ever but if you ask me, it's poorly scripted and acted. 'Rodney you plonker!' Yeah, hilarious.

I don't think I saw anyone mention Arrested Development.. Wow. I'm really loving Lucky Louie right now if it gets the time it could become one of the greats. Spaced has been mentioned and is great. Trying to think of some others... How about Newsradio? Did anyone say Newsradio?
