When I was first getting into the Pixies, I downloaded random songs off P2P programs until I had pretty much all of them. The version of Subbacultcha that I had, however, wasn't the one on the album. The version I had had a chorus with the lyrics "We were having fun" repeated. Does anyone have this version or know anything about it? Furthermore, might they be willing to share it, as I lost it when my harddrive died.
Thanks, Jacob |

Hell, nevermind about the sharing, I just found it again.
But what's the story behind this alt version? |

It's the version of the purple demo,
the 'we were having fun'-chorus became Distance equals rates times time of Trompe Le Monde

Speaking about the Purple Tape, I found yesterday the japanese edition of the CD, are there any extra songs on it?

I wouldn't think so, it's jut their demo minus what became Come on Pilgrim, so I don't think it's possible to really have bonus tracks from a demo

This is the annoying thing about file sharing. Although it can also be beautiful. A few of years ago (2003) I first heard about the Pixies and downloaded a few songs off Doolittle. One of them was Wave... and the next day I went out and bought the album. When reaching the third track, my mind was blown by the track, as the version I had downloaded was U.K Surf. Oh, it was a happy time. I've since stopped file sharing, and now have no money from buying too much music.
"Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Kim", "Goodnight Charles", "Goodnight Joe".... "Goodnight Charles" |

ive got the japanese purple tape and it's just the same as the european/US version. there was a purple tape 2 that was for sale all over japan not long after, but it was manufactured in mexico i think and wasnt official. it just collected up a lot of other demos available on bootlegs.
