First off, let me state that I searched this topic, but the engine was down, so I hope it's not a post of something already discussed.
After listening to the latest podcast, I started thinking about Ms. Deal's hesitancy in recording a new Pixies album. How she doesn't want to tarnish the reputation. Frank said that the music would most likely sound very different from the original Pixies run. I immediately remembered the band the Knitters, which I believe has quite a few members of X in it (not sure if it is most of the band) performing music that is sonically different than the original band's heyday.
So here is a suggestion: Make another album under a new band name. It won't be considered a Pixies album, so shouldn't be able to truly tarnish the repertoire if things go astray. All the while, it would simultaneously satisfy the desire of thousands of fans to hear the group members record some more together. And best of all, the new renamed Pixies band could open for the Pixies on tour a la Folksmen for Spinal Tap.
just wishing. |

Yeah, our search engine doesn't work very well, you have to hone your search very carefully or it times out. There is another discussion on this, in a thread called "Black Bags Penning Pixies Tunes" or something like that. In any case, welcome aboard, and I will have a look for that thread for you.

Hmm, there's another thread somewhere, but this one is also on topic: http://forum.frankblack.net/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16318
