Derek has begun to trickle some tabs onto our tab page for the new album. Check out, try out, and of course if you have any tabs of your own to contribute, let him know.

I'm mostly tackling the chord progressions right now, so if any of you want to figure out solos and tab them, that would help out alot!

I'm in the process of:

"Raiderman"
"When the Paint Grows Darker Still"
"Seven Days"

and I've already tabbed:
1-4 on disc A
"Highway to Lowdown"
"Kiss My Ring"

There are also some piano songs, so if any of you want to make some sheet music, you'd probably get a golden star.

Hi,
I've just tabbed "The Real El Rey", very interesting song! When I started to tab it, it was one of my least favourite songs of the album, but when you "dive" in the song's structure, and all its chord changes, it becomes better and better.

I have some problems here with "spaces" between words when I post, so I don't manage to put the right chord above the right word. So I'll send you, Derek, a "clean" tab in text format.
Not sure about every single chord, so tell me if something sounds bad to you.

Am Dm
We made the scene
C Bm Am
At the real El Rey
Dm G
Or so they say
C Bm F
So many claimed to be king

C G C
I’m going back to Manchester, England
Dm A Dm
I’m gonna learn me to sing
Bb F C
But I’ll beware out there
Dm C Bb
On the English moor
F G# F
Where so many claim to be king

Bb F
I’m gonna be the king

F Bb F
I’m going down there to Globe-Miami
F Bb G# G
I’m going up on the heaps, the heaps of slag
F Bb Dm C Bb
'cause a bottle of cold Bohemia
F G# F
That’s the best water I ever had

Chords during the piano solo:
Bb F
Am Dm
C Bm Am
Dm G
C Bm F

I'm going to hold you to that ;)

I think I might try to do a full transcription of "Dog Sleep" in sheet music format. If that is successful, I may (if I have time) try some others. If you or anyone else happens to already have the chords to that one, that would save me quite a bit of time.

Here's a partial midi file for a little taste of what I'm doing on "Dog Sleep." I've only transcribed the intro and the first verse, so far. It's going to be a lot more difficult than I expected, mainly because the piano part is improvised, and it's very difficult to try to transcribe music that is improvised. But fortunately, OOPSing has made the piano as clear as day, and hopefully I can be finished within a week or two.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/11iqjx

You can't hear the ukulele because I wrote most of it in slash notation, which doesn't sound in midi. You can hear it in certain melodic parts, just not where it's just chords. I think I'm going to keep the drums pretty simplistic, since you really aren't supposed to write all the fills and everything in drum notation anyways.

I've made a few corrections on this tab. like the Db-C part, and the C7 instead of a Bb

Sorry to nitpick, but the 'D#' in the outro of 'In the Time of My Ruin' is actually a C#, I think.

I put Db instead of C# (theoretically the same thing, as samurai pointed out) because the parts before that are in the "F" key, and the key of F uses flats in its scale, as opposed to sharps. I don't know a whole lot of music theory, but I try to abide by that generally.

Though sometimes Frank confuses me with his many unusual chord changes and key modulations. That clever devil. Ah, I need to tab Holland Town.

Tab news:

I'm working on "The End of the Summer" right now... and it's a bitch! I remember asking Frank on the forum about weird tunings and he said there were none on FM/RM. Then he said something about good luck figuring out "The End of the Summer." I think Lyle Workman should tab this.

There are chords such as Bbdim5, Em7b5, Ebmaj7, Dm/F, Gsus4....

Hopefully I'm naming them right. There are also some Gm, Bb, F and other "normal" chords mixed in.

I'm still working on the CHORUS and END. I'm 95% sure of the rest being correct though. Sorry I haven't tabbed the actual chord formations yet. This is just to show you how crazy this song is chord-wise, and why it is taking so damn long!

     A Bm E
	'cause that moment is gone
                           D

Also "Golden Shore" and "I'm Not Dead (on an Abstract Plain) ... (Every Single Time) ... er (I'm in Pittsburgh)" are done and should be posted to the tabs within 24-48 hours, as long as Dean isn't in the hospital for working so hard on podcast 10.
