Did you know that one of Kristin Hersh's albums is called "HIPS and Makers"? I wonder why. |

this game is dumb, but some of the people who play it are even dumber.

The real problem seems to be that theese people don't actually want to play, but keep on posting anyway, and are, IPSO facto, ruining it for everyone else. Don't you think? |

stop breaking the fucking rules!
yes, i really am getting upset about a silly 4 letter word game
although, when you come to a dead end like i think we have with ipso, it's probably fair to do a swap around..
STOP

You know what's funny? I'm on PixieSteve's side here. Which happens NEVER. Mr.BDH, this is your game. Please lay out the rules exactly as you want them to be (I hope you choose no letter-switching), and then we should all follow.
*wonders how the hell he ended up choosing PixieSteve's side over s_wrenn's*
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

What about letting the word for the most part intact and just switch the first or the last, like I tried with ship to hips to ipso. That would prevent total chaos but open the game a bit. |

that's the very thing we're contesting.
what was wrong with HITS, LIPS, HOPS... seems pretty open to me.

i was pointing out how easy it was to follow the rules.

Call me a purist, but the integrity of a game is ruined when you change the rules or start cheating 30-some pages into it. I think the funnest thing that happened in this entire game was when Trobrianders declared victory because he boxed us into a corner a few months ago. And if I recall correctly (I'm sure my colleague Pixie Steven can double-check me on this, because he seems to have more time than I do), we started again with a new word and continued.
P.S. Sweet new sig, Steve!
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

it's not the game?
are you asking what would be the harm in people picking up the ball in a game of soccer?

But remember, how much faster and better the game of soccer became, after the keeper wasn't allowed anymore to pick up the ball if it came from his own team? Change isn'tbad per se.
But what the heck. |
