My teams fixtures are boring. Not a bad first game for Sheff United, who have Liverpool at home.

Hmmm Watford. We better not embarass ourselves by losing that one.

Yeah thats what I thought. He's proved he can score against Championship defences so it would be a good idea for him to take this opportunity.

Well I suppose I'm chuffed about Cristiano Ronaldo leaving the Premiership, since it's his diving, crying, whinging antics that I could do without seeing (plus he aways scores against us!).
Anyway, I'm more interested Baines' new 3 year contract, it's nice to see some loyalty shown to the club unlike a certain French right-back I could mention. Fitz Hall is a decent signing, he looked a good player at Oldham when we were both in Div 2 and has continued to be consistent in the 1st Div (plus a season in the Prem). Things are starting to look up. Hopefully Ellington will come home (and bring Gera with him from West Brom).
On a less important note, we should be getting a new home kit this season, which may not seem like a big deal but I'm fair chuffed, seeing as I've got "Chimbonda" on the back of my current one!

Liverpool at home, but looking at our opening fixtures we will be hard pushed not to be bottom come the 6th game of the season. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham in the opening 6. Uh oh! On the plus side we signed my home teams best defender, so its not all bad.

Oops I posted the wrong link. I meant to post the Baines one.
I am not actually too bothered if Ronaldo leaves. He won't be committed forever anyway so I guess we may as well get rid whilst we can get a tidy sum. He's too inconsistent at the moment in the Premiership. I think he would get even better in Spain.
Plus then we can get Lennon for less or Rodriguez.
Stu, do you really think Jewell will want Ellington back after all that happened?

Gera would be a good buy. I think you should leave Ellington alone though. I have no real opinion on Davies yet.

Apart from him having a dodgy shoulder and not being proven at Premiership level I'd love to have Ellington back (but for no more than West Brom paid us for him). It is risky to take a chance on him, but we're going to have to start taking a few chances if we want to survive.
I've not seen much of Davies myself so can't really comment on him.

.....and him not being very loyal so you couldn't trust him to stay this time either. I don't know all the facts but I do remember Jewell being very pissed of with him for going. That's why I am so suprised he is going back for him.

I don't think anyone knows all the facts apart from Ellington, his agent and Paul Jewell. Most people seem to think it was mainly his agent trying to get a bit of cash in his back pocket and aren't really sure Ellington was that keen to move clubs.
Henri Camara was an indeal replacement though and is probably a better player than Ellington.

Emile Heskey has signed for Wigan in a club record £5.5million deal. I think that's far too much for Heskey but at least we've signed a striker.

Neither can I but I suppose I'll have to trust him. Paul Jewell has never signed a bad player for us and if he sees something in Heskey that's worth that amount of money then fair enough.
Rumour is we'll sign Nathan Ellington and Zoltan Gera on Monday. A strikeforce of Camara, Heskey and Ellington doesn't sound too bad to me.

What Homers said. He's been no better than average for many years. You'd have been better going in for Robbie Fowler last year.
Saying that, Celtic have been no better really. When we've been crying out for a top class centre back and left back, we've had about three midfielders and two strikers. And Gary Caldwell. We've also lost our first two warm up games to Polish opposition, albeit with nothing like a first team on the field.

Yeah tell me about it, i feel like i've gotten off lightly now. £5.5 million for Heskey, well you might as well literally burn money, set fire to it and everything.

Call me mad, but I think Heskey might be a very important player for us next season. Him and Camara upfront could turn out to be a decent partnership. Even if he doesn't score the goals I think his holp up play and airiel presence might be vital.
Probably not though...

I think you could have bought better for your money, let's put it that way.
And now of course you have signed a goalkeeper who spends more time with physios than he does with his team mates.

Heskey and Kirkland will prove everyone wrong this season. I'm quite confident about that. A couple more quality signings and we should be pushing for the Premiership title! Watch out Chelsea!
Anyway, Kirkland has only signed a 6 month loan deal. We'll only sign him proper in Janruary if he stays injury free and impresses.

Is it correct that he's gone on a five year contract or did I mishear? And yeah, Villa of the North. Decades since they won anything.

Not sure about the contract details but it's a great coup for the magpies, considering how crap they are. |

And this. The poor man's out for another chunk of the football season. Still, the wages i'm sure will keep rolling in by the hundred thousands.
I'm trying to remember a time when Duff last played with a smile. Newcastle! Damien? What exactly is going on in that oirish head o' yours. |

I think the words you're looking for is 'Damien, welcome to Newcastle, the club that loves you back, and who have already won one competition this season, the fabled Intertoto Cup.'
Can you guess who I support? |
