Anyone read this book??
If so what did you think. Life changing or a pile of horse crap?

It is not a book of grammatical correctness.

No, but at first I thought you were talking about The Way of the Warrior of Light by Paolo Coelho. Got any tidbits from it?

i'd argue that a pile of horse crap and a life changing experience are not mutually exclusive.

Way of the Peaceful Warrior has become one of the most beloved spiritual sagas of our time. Shared among friends and families, this million-copy word-of-mouth bestseller has inspired men and women of all ages in twenty languages worldwide.
Despite his success, college student and world-champion athlete Dan Millman is haunted by a feeling that something is missing from his life. Awakened one night by dark dreams, he wanders into an all-night gas station, meets an old man named Socrates, and his world is changed forever. Guided by this eccentric old warrior, drawn to an elusive young woman named Joy, Dan begins a spiritual odyssey into realms of light and shadow, romance and mystery, toward a final confrontation that will deliver or destroy him.
This classic tale, told with heart and humor, speaks to the peaceful warrior in each of us. Countless readers have been moved to laughter and tears "even moments of illumination" as they rediscover life's larger meaning and purpose. Journey with Dan on the peaceful warrior's path to unreasonable happiness. Find out for yourself why this book changes lives.

Sounds a little like Stone Junction, which is an excellent book.

It is a very good book. Just gives you a whole new perspective about many different things. I no longer want to stab everyone on the subway. It worked for me.

Well that's nice to know.
At least I can go back to using the subway now.
I'll check it out.

The subways are now safe. Well except for the occasional urine/splooge/fecal/bird disease occurance. But yeah...

Uhh...not really. Everyone in this city is so miserable, lonely and scared. It takes a lot of concentration everyday not to let it get to you. I just try to be as nice as possible. But you still try not to make contact.
Once I was trying to help this old lady bring her heavy, multiple bags down the stairs and she beat me with her purse and screamed "THIEF" at me about 8 times. That fucked up my day.

Pushing her down the stairs might have made you feel better.

She was more in that position than I was. And the thing is that I asked her if she wanted help with her bags and she grunted yes. Friggin city.

amazing book! glad you enjoyed it. i read it about 5 years ago. one of my favorite books of all times. and most of my friends who have read it thought it was pretty good. a few have said a bit hokey. i heard about it from the much music website. it used to have a section where artists recommended their favorite books. i was one there checking out frank black's book recommendations. he had recommended the red mars series. then i saw that christian slater had recommended the way of the peaceful warrior.
