I heard this question on the radio the other day. "If you knew you were going to die within something like the next 10 or 15 minutes and you had only one last song you would want to hear, what would it be?"
Not a funeral song, more like a last request.
What would you choose? It doesn't have to be a Frank Black song, but i'll go with Dog in the Sand

'Lightsabre Cocksucking Blues' - Mclusky
Or some longass Do Make Say Think song that would overlap me dying, so there'd be no tense silence..

I'd go with Gigantic, just so I can hear Kimberly's sweet voice one more time. Plus I love the song, it makes me happy and I wanna be happy before I go.
Then again, if we are gonna die in ten to fifteen minutes, why can't we have more songs?
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place

"Prologue ~To the Ancient Land~" by Kow Otani, taken from Roar Of The Earth, the soundtrack to Shadow Of The Colossus would be an epic way to die.

The moment I saw the topic title, "My Favorite Kiss" popped into my mind. Such a perfect little song. If I could, I'd like to go out with that on repeat, please. |

A big, long, epic, multi-part, triple album song. Then, while it's playing, I'd try to appeal to the Execuioner's better nature.

Great question. A couple FB songs come to mind, though he wrote neither of them: "Six Sixty-Six" and "All Around the World" ("Put the needle in my arm, and I'll be dead and gone").
And aren't you havin' fun? |

I'm tempted to say something like Celine Dion, then I wouldn't mind dying so much.
As it is, I'd probably plump for another Radiohead track like Brian, possibly Lucky, which is a song which seems to have no right to be as perfect as it is.

I thought I'd come across Snow Patrol then for a second. I was going to say, 'then you are quite dead already'.

For Frank songs:
Fields of Marigold would be appropriate - with the chorus "Good byyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeee I'm blowing a kiss to you So Looooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnngggggg Wonderful meeting you........etc."
or Manitoba would be good also

Excellent Choice! As much as I adore that song and especially that album (self-titled from 1968), I've got to say, I think I prefer Harry Nilsson's version.
As for me, it would be an extremely difficult decision. I might have to go with "There Is Nothing More to Say" by The Millennium. Or the "Sanctus" from Beethoven's Mass in D (Missa Solemnis) if that counts as one song.

I'd like Metallica's Orion played at my funeral. Maybe that;d be the last song I'd like to hear too, I'm not sure.
