Since we have an vast french community here at FB.net, I was wondering if you guys could help me...

I've tried to improve my french speaking and writing skills, on and off for a couple of years. I'm still very poor when it comes to things like vocabulary, verbs and basic, general french language dealings.

I've tried to listen to french radio broacasts, but I can't understand half of what's being said. I don't believe anyone else can either, everyone talks so fast that I just write it off as mad french pirate jibberish.

I was thinking that forcing myself to read french forums is a great idea to improve myself on this aspect, and I was thinking if there are any forums on the internet that the french-speaking community recomends or that you like to read? Forums about music, films, politics, etc.

Suggestions anyone?

Well, nothing better than a (brand new) FB / Pixies site to start:

I'm sorry, I really don't think Internet forums could be recommended as a way to improve your vocabulary. Don't you have access to books in French? Even magazines?

Perhaps rent some French films and see how much you can get out of them without subtitles. Films are good because they are conversational, not just dry text book stuff.

Or maybe watch a movie that you know well but watch it with French subtitles if possible. Maybe it won't work but it's just an idea.
