in an effort to kick start some of the reading threads..

i just finished reading this. it's the paperback version of the sequal to the film. has anyone else read this?

i thought they did an excellent job expanding on the characters created in the movie. and, for what some might consider "light" reading, there are some interesting narrative techniques in this book. i also like the subtle commentary about Marxist theory,

here's a little synopsis:

Good Burger's in trouble again! This time, it's been selling Ed's Sauce without a license. The only way to save the secret sauce is to get it approved through a taste test. The problem? The pot of Ed's Sauce is empty and only one person knows how to make more! Where's Ed when they need him?

Ed's trying to give a customer his eighteen cents of change.

In Paris.

Determined to return the money, Ed is following the man around the world...and straight into a kidnapping plot. Luckily, Ed's friend Dexter is also following him. With Ed and Dexter on the case, this adventure is sure to be...well, an adventure!

Do you think it's any more difficult to post a reply in a massive thread than in an individual one?

As for Good Burger, I keep hearing about this but all I know of it is from some Nickelodeon show I didn't like. I have no idea if there's a connection.

"Welcome to Goodburger, home of the Goodburger, can I take your order?"

What a film! Never knew there was a sequal to it though.

I can't believe that's the same Good Burger. To be fair, I never _really_ watched it when it was a skit on Nickelodeon but it didn't seem like something deep enough that it could be developed into a skit. Now Barf's restaurant in You Can't Do That On Television, there's a place you could place a sitcom around!

Obviously I was wrong and there must be something redeeming that I missed or wasn't in the skits they did, perhaps I should give it a view? Or is this heavy sarcasm that I'm too tired to detect?

Well I don't even know if I was being sarcastic myself with the "What a film!" comment. It probably would be considered truly awful by many, but the childhood memories are just too sweet for me...

or maybe floop is being sarcastic about the whole thing. I don't know.

i'm sarcastic about a lot of things, but when it comes to recommending the book-version of the sequel of the film GOOD BURGER, i do not kid.

oh man, i'd totally forgotten how much i loved that show when i was a kid. thanks to you i just spent 20 minutes on google reliving my childhood.

maybe i'm just a cynical old bitch but childrens programming has really gone to hell. let us compare:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZtyqFj9j-U&search=you%20can%27t%20do%20that%20on%20television

vs.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BratzWorld/

i first noticed the bratz a few years ago when someone bought a happy meal and it had a toy in it which i determined to be a little plastic prostitute, and i watched the bratz show for the first time a few weeks ago. apparently it's aimed at girls age 6 to 11.

i hate anyone who doesn't like me.
