anyone ever been to or here things about it? the mrs. and i are thinking about going. some good seat sales on right now and i really like the line up. on saturday there's neko case, sufjan stevens, flaming lips, the tragically hip, and iron and wine that got me excited. never been to seattle before so probably check out the area for a few days then go to sasquatch.

I'll ask a friend of mine, he was there. An interesting lineup. Tragically Hip in there with... well... all those cool people? Not that I'm anti-Hip, but they're decidedly more mainstream than any of the others.

yes, but they're so hip! ya, bit strange they're in the line up. maybe to get some more canadians out to the festival. but they really are a great live band.

Well, I didn't realize 'til I was abroad, but nowhere else are they even known. So quite possibly the promoter heard them and and not heard of them so threw them in. Anyway, whatever, I'd go.

Whatever happened to the King of Karaoke, anyway? I'm sure he would have loved the name.

ya. i did a search before i posted to see if someone had already started a similar thread- nothing for the music festival but around 20 others on sasquatch all started by kok.

i booked the flight and tickets last week. the venue looks pretty cool from the pics i've seen. interested to know if anyone's heard anything about the camping area.

i just got back from the sasquatch festival at the gorge in washington. amazing venue!! absolutely gorgeous. but got pelted by ice rocks for 30 minutes on saturday! it was fun at first but then it got rather unpleasant. big hail storm while neko case was on and she only got to play 3 songs and sasquatch didn't let her finish her set due to time contraints. FUCKIN BULLSHIT!

but the other bands were pretty good so made up for it. flaming lips headlined on saturday. i've never seen them perform live before. abolutely blown away! full out entertainment and the sound was great. wayne was pretty cool and they finished with warpigs!

here's a link to a seattle article.

Sasquatch! lineup will be announced next week

The Gorge Amphitheatre may be under new ownership, but the indie music marathon started by House of Blues Entertainment will return this Memorial Day weekend.

The sixth annual Sasquatch! Music Festival is May 26-27 at the Gorge. The official festival lineup will be announced Tuesday and tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 3 through all Ticketmaster outlets or by calling 453-7139.

Past Sasquatch performers have included Kanye West, Coldplay, Wilco, the Pixies, Modest Mouse, Nine Inch Nails, Beck, The Flaming Lips, Death Cab For Cutie, Ben Harper, the Arcade Fire, The Postal Service, The Roots and Built To Spill.

Sasquatch was founded by Adam Zacks, a senior talent buyer for House of Blues, which booked the Gorge. The award-winning amphitheater was acquired by Live Nation, a spin-off of Clear Channel Entertainment, when the concert-booking giant bought House of Blues at the end of 2006.
