an interesting fact most people don't know is that George (later General) Patton participated in the 1912 Summer Olympics in the first ever Pentathalon.

It is also a little known fact that George Patton refused to accept a Tony Award for portraying himself in the smash Broadway musical, Patton! Patton! Patton!

I remember when I was about 8 years old, my dad and I were grilling up some hot dogs on the charcoal grill. My dad had some tongs with which he was rotating the dogs. Of a sudden the tongs broke in two and they fell into some mud or dog poo, not sure about which. I then began to cry and asked my dad what we were going to do now? How were we going to rotate the hotdogs, how were we going to eat tonight? Dad then walked over to a nearby shrub and broke of a stick. He told me that we could use the stick to rotate the dogs and then we could plate them and eat them. I asked him why he didn't ask the neighboors for tongs or go to the market or even back into the kitchen. He then peered over at me and a smile cracked on the side of his lips. He said, LBF, as George Patton once said "A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow." I'll never forget that day or those dogs, they were the best. We also ran out of mustard.

When I need mustard, I usually ask the passenger in the next limousine.

Patton is a really good film. Francis Ford Coppola co-wrote the screenplay. John Wayne wanted to play the role, actually.
