so we have:

I'm the hardy loser
You'll find me crashing through my mother's door
I am the ugly lover
You'll find us rolling on the dirty floor

Break my body hold my bones hold my bones
Break my body hold my bones hold my bones
Break my body hold my bones hold my bones

I'm a belly dancer
I shake for arabs and I never care
I'm a building jumper
Roof to roof you see me flying in the air

Break my body hold my bones hold my bones
Break my body hold my bones hold my bones
Break my body hold my bones hold my bones

Somebody got hurt
Somebody get hurt
Somebody got hurt

OK OK OK yes yes?

Tre, after much thought and reflection, I urge you to reconsider floop's "Harley loser."
It makes sense -- both how it sounds and how it goes with the next line ("crashing" through a door).

Thank you.

Sorry if I'm totally repeating, but I can't face trawling through pages just in case...

Alterations in bold. I'm pretty damn positive on these, I've got a load of versions I checked between when figuring out the proper lyrics to use in Nimrod's Son, makes life easier. Plus I get to listen to the Pixies, which is a boon. Kim's vocal is normally a good indicator because she pronounces stuff a bit better better than Chucky.

Bone Machine
You're looking like
You've got some sun
Your blistered lips
Have got a kiss
That tastes a bit like everyone

I was talking to peachy-peach about kissy-kiss

I'm in your brains (seriously! listen to it on headphones!)
You make me hard
Your irish skin..

---

Break My Body
I'm a hard loser
You'll find me crashing through my mother's door
I am the ugly lover
You'll find us rolling on the dirty floor

Somebody got hurt
Somebody get hurt
Somebody got her

Broken Face
There was this man who snapped his brain
In little pieces
And then they drilled holes
And then they put it back in there

River Euphrates
Ri ri ri ri (doesn't sound like "ride")

Two three hey
Ride a tyre down River Euphrates...

Riiiiide!
A!
Tyyrrree!

Tony's Theme
she's got him oiling his chain for a ride today (definately not "today" but I can't figure it out!)

I am Tone, super bicycle Tone
I’m racing', speed by, turn and pop a wheelie burn
evil chasing'

I can look at the sun
if you give me some bad sunglasses
b-b-back on the road
he was even dressed like a toad < this sounds way off, but I can't do any better
after classes!

Vamos
I keep letter friends
Even the lesbian

I'm Amazed

the day before
I was wed
she went upstairs
and she shot her head, i'm amazed (college radio set again)

before I died
I took my honda
and packed it up up up

Going from the Break My Body live @ Brixon 91 vid someone posted recently, the first line is "I'm a horny loser", and listening back to Surfer Rosa, it sounds like that too!

Incidently, I f*cking LOVE this song.

TONY'S THEME
This is a song about a superhero named Tony
It's called Tony's Theme

He's got the oil on his chain for a ride in the rain
No baloney
Ride around on my bicycle like a pony
I'm waving hi, hi, hi, hi, hi
Gi-Gi-Gimme your scream
Gimme, gimme me the theme
Of Tony

To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny

I am Tone, super bicycle Tone, I'm racing
Spitfire turn and pop a wheelie, burn and evil chasing
I'm waving bye, bye, bye, bye, bye
I got a card in my spoke
I'm practicing my joke, I'm learning

To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny

This is a song about a superhero named Tony
It's called Tony's Theme

I can look at the sun if you give me some bad sunglasses
I'm back on the road, hip-hop on grass like a toad
After classes!

To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny
To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny, To-ny
To-ny

Definitely I shake for hours. I shake for Arabs (just cos he sang I'm a belly dancer) would be a mindless line to sing. He sang 'hours' at the recent Oregon shows.

Arabs? Which Arabs? I mean Frank isn't usually so tactless though it is typical of some Americans to mindlessly bunch them.

do you ever find that non-Americans do that, or just Americans?

seriously though, just so i'm clear, are you arguing that using the word "arabs" in a lyric is offensive?

on topic though, i think it's "arabs" too. when you hear it in solo performances it's pretty clear

Frank is a good American as opposed to the type that gave the world the eloquent phrase 'towel-head'. Hardly controversial. You not making a meal of this?

Family members may squabble but stick together when someone comes-a-knockin. There's no need to circle the wagons when an American like Warren Zeavon sings Lawyers, Guns and Money. I thought I might be extended the same courtesy. Apparently not if I'm seen as an outsider. By the way, you turned my 'some Americans' into 'just Americans'. No one waves that flag at me. That flag belongs to me. Of course non-Americans do it but the world fears when Americans do it. That's what makes it noteworthy.

Not offensive, just clumsy. Correctness has no place in songwriting. "I shake for arabs" is just plain bad art! As crass as singing about waving onions at stripey-vested Frenchmen. Do you think it's good art? That's what's bugging me a little. I always thought he was saying arabs too. But then hearing it at the Oregon shows it seemed not. Maybe he switched. Oh man, is PixieSteve ever gonna lay into me this time! Set a lighter tone. It would help me out.

How is "Arab" offensive? It's an ethnic group that can be defined as having ancestors from the Arabian Peninsula or being one who primarily speaks Arabic.

"Mindlessly bunch them"? What?

On Surfer Rosa he's shaking his hiney for ARABS. This new tour he seems to have switched to hours.
