What a great show! Lasting over 2 hours it was filled with new songs and old songs from almost every solo and catholics album. Frank sounded incredible. Frank asked EDF to join him on stage to add some "texture" to his songs. It was a hell of a set.
I need some help with the setlist. Some of these are either new songs or songs that I can't place.
Frank Black solo:
Marsist Deadman's Curve Men in Black Cactus I Heard Ramona Sing I Burn Today Manitoba The Water Rabbit Song End of Miles All My Ghosts Been All Around The World Song of the Shrimp My Terrible Ways California Bound Horrible Day Western Star
EDF playing piano on the following:
Calistan Robert Onion Los Angeles Nadine Abstract Plain Headache I'll Be Blue Superabound Back to Rome Parry The Wind High, Low Sing For Joy Bullet
Encore, FB solo:
Fitzgerald - "Sad to see art hanging on the wall" ... "cigarette stained beard" ... "stink of piss" "Ah, Fitzy" Fare Thee Well Mr. Grieves
Gabby La La
Hi Frank
The Telecasters, with one of the pickups removed?
The Short Strap.
The Setlist
EDF
Thanks for playing, Frank
These are some .avi from my digital camera. They don't sound good because of distortion on my camera's mic. Also, my camera stopped recording at 3:00, so some songs got cut off. I'm sorry.
I Heard Ramona Sing http://youtube.com/watch?v=E7luhkWqfOY
The "Rabbit" song http://youtube.com/watch?v=NXBiafhgs74
My Terrible Ways, cut off at 3:00 http://youtube.com/watch?v=98YMQtABJS4
Robert Onion, with EDF http://youtube.com/watch?v=sYiijNbgF3I
Superabound, with EDF, cut off at 3:00 http://youtube.com/watch?v=sjHEiiWN1jI
The last :05 of Superabound, sorry it got cutoff http://youtube.com/watch?v=_Q4bDzcl2co

Ha, thanks for those pics. Nice to see 'the setlist that could've been'. Will be interesting to hear what he plays tonight.
Frank looks pretty tired, don't you think? |

Thanks scruvs, for the pics and the uploads. I think his shirt says says "We're all tourists and drunks"

(i don't know which thread to post in first, they're all so good) Scruvs, thanks so much for the clips. I'd say I hope you had a great night but these pictures are the proof. And the setlist is a dream come true.
Frank and EDF were born to play together. A future soon to be fB tour is going to be awesome. |

"We rip off tourists and drunks" if bonedry's right.
Do I read Shazeb Andleeb on the setlist? If he plays it tonight I'm gonna track down and kill everyone that attends the gig.

My Terrible Ways sounds excellent. I love discovering new songs live. Remember when the Madison show was leaked in 2000, with all the songs from DiTS? It was the first time we heard the Catholics' "new" sound and it was amazing.

I believe Frank's shirt is a souvenir from the bar owned by his brother.

I googled that term and apparently there's some legal dispute about which restaurant can claim it as its slogan.

Nice pics! I was standing just to your left Scruvs. I guess you were the guy with the HUGE beard? Nice job man. I saw you take the pic of the setlist on the floor. Noticed it has Steak N Saber listed, I wonder if he didn't play that song just because that one guy kept yelling for it.
I don't post often enough to need a signature. |

yea that's me. I was thinking the same thing about steak and sabre. I don't think Frank played any songs that anyone requested, even if they were on his list. I heard people asking for "Don't Ya Rile 'em," "Billy Radcliffe," "Steak and Sabre," "Pan American Highway" (me), "Honeycomb." So tonight, between each song, I'll quietly wait to hear what's next, just in case.
Anyway Calistan, Los Angeles, Western Star. It's like Frank was reading my mind.

wow, If only I could see that show EDF, he's a legend! Have heard him play so many times on various records, but I have never seen him. You are very lucky! And that set, that's what I like about FB solo, all stages of his career are included here!

What was the version of Dead Man's Curve? Was it the Jan & Dean song [as an intro] an FB number I haven't heard of, or a mistitled other FB song? Interested to know.
Would love to hear Back To Rome if recorded.
Great post btw scruv, good stuff!

By the way, first song of the encore was Fitzgerald. No idea on the rest...

Thanks. What does he say repeatedly at the end of the song. I heard "I fit see."
Everytime I heard a new song, I'd yell from the crowd, "What's that one called?" Most of the time Frank would ignore me or wouldn't hear me, but one time he looked and shook his head no, as if to say either "I don't know, yet" or "I'm not gonna tell you."

Man, so Dead Man's Curve and the "Rabbit" song wont be on Fastman Raiderman? Doesn anyone have any information on this? Are these the demos he has been working on? I sincerely hope we get studio versions of these songs at some point. For those of you who have FMRM, do any of the tracks seem to have this same vibe as these two? Like the minor chords unexpectedly switching back to major and vice versa? Dog Sleep is classic in its own right, but deviates from the Frank Black "core" so solid in Dead Man's Curve for example...man, not that his "core" or his "essence" could even remotely be pinpointed.
