we used to eat tripe all the time growing up. we also used to eat tongue and liver and everything from the cow/pig/sheep from our farm pretty much.
also, mountain oysters are a good one - it's just boiled sheep testicles....never actually eaten it myself, but have watched other people do it.
and the best pie i've ever eaten was one bought in a small town in new zealand - it was called a lambs fry pie - so it had liver, heart, kidneys and a few other choice bits of offal....was delicious.....

Tongue can taste quite gross, but sliced thin in a taco it's absolutely delicious.

Sea urchin (uni) is my favorite sushi. It is wonderful when you have it fresh, but the weird texture is off-putting to a lot of people. Also, sweet shrimp, which I believe is a raw shrimp, had very bad texture to me the first time I tried it, but now I love it, especially eating the deep fried head and body of the rest of the shrimp.
I tend to think of human beings as huge rubbery test tubes, too, with chemical reactions seething inside |
