Denis, they get filed by title, though, so Nadine has to be grouped together. But, not sure if you saw, there are two releases under Nadine. If you go down to the bottom of the Nadine page (or any album's page) you'll see "Other releases".
http://www.frankblack.net/songs/db3beta.asp?menu=ep&mode=release-details&releaseID=221
Adding 'appearances' would require a change to the core of the db, which I can't do, and also, since the tracks are cross referenced items and not just a list of unconnected stuff, to have a tracklist the way we do would require those song titles to be entered. Could be tricky but I agree with you.I have an idea though, for it... still will require change to the db core but not listing tracks/entering them into the db.
Finally, any missing info is appreciated. I'm giving that aspect back over to Tre now because I have to move on to updating the backend and other parts of the site, but she'll get it up, fear not. Plus, I still have to be the one to put the artwork in there, so I'll be doing that. She's getting me a comprehensive list of what we're missing based on Paradise's rather complete collection.

OK, here's a question for you. Promo Singles. Do they get filed under singles or promos? I'm leaning towards promos, but your thoughts?

OK, thanks to you guys, Paradise, and his extensive collection (really, I bet this rivals FB's brother's whose name is suddenly eluding me) I've got a _really_ good handle on a lot of this now. In fact, if you look all the way up to Cult of Ray (it takes time to cross check everything, resize images, upload, add data, tracklists, etc etc - I spent 3.5 hours just doing all the singles, promos, etc) you'll find a quite complete catalog including images for every different release. There is some really cool stuff that I've never seen before, including a UK TOTY promo that I have NO info about but has to be one of the coolest CD designs FB's ever had.
Anyway, I've got all your artwork on my pooter now, so thanks guys, and keep checking out mistakes, making suggestions, etc. It's really been EXTREMELY helpful (I probably wouldn't have gotten into this level of detail were it not for you guys).
I'm debating whether to classify that particular Black Session as a promo, Holiday Son, since the label doesn't list it that way... hmmm.
Anyway, all your suggestions noted, and I think I've covered everything in here except adding more lyrics and stuff post-COR era. Need Peel session art added, etc, etc.

I didn't know this version had been released on CD. It's the cover of the 12" I have.

I have this cd. It was released in 1995, only in France as far as I know. The UK version came out in 1997.

The version I have features 2 songs: "LA" and "Ten Percenter". And it's not American, it's French (and limited + numbered).

OK, so there's a French one missing, Frog? Can you get me the catalogue number and any other relevant info. Presumably 4AD/Virgin?
Denis, you're saying there's a 12" of that other Peel session and Frog you're saying you DO have the CD?
Just trying to get it all straight. Thanks for double checking my work.

Interesting. I would've thought it was released later 'cause of the cat. #. Those crazy labels. Will fix that up when Denis gets me the 12" details.

has anyone transcribed lyrics for the non-instrumental version of tossed?
are we including songs FB's done live and not appeared on albums? I can't think of any except tossed at the moment. One step beyond maybe (though it's another instrumental)... |

If it appears on an album then yes. If not then no. Since Tossed appears on an album (even though instrumental) we should probably include the lyrics. One Step Beyond is in there because it was on a live release.

I forgot to mention this rare cardboard sleeve edition of the orange album (yeah, orange, I think everyone will agree this time):
Oh, and just for fun, another rare item:

It might not be the right thread to mention this but anyway. The expression "Song database" bugs me. It sounds nerdy. Plus when you go to the main page, if you're looking for a FB discography it's unclear that you have to go to the Song DB to find it. I think the "website directory" should say "Discography" or "Discography & Song Database". In fact, I think the whole website directory is unclear. I'll try to think of something.

I'm actually with you on that, Denis, and when I did up the new beta I was thinking the whole time "there's got to be a better name". Discography is a good name, except it's obviously a lot more than that. I'm willing to take any suggestions for the sitemap/'website directory'. I plan to redo the whole main page at some point. You know, when my life as I know it now ends and I have abundant free time. :)

This Bowie site calls it "Illustrated db Discography". Not sure it's a much better name though.

How about "Discography/Compendium" :)
Actually, we could call it an encyclopedia... discography should probably be in there, though...

Hmmm... looking, thinking...
Still don't like Discography & Song DB. I take it you don't like Encyclopedia? My only problem with the pedia is that it doesn't encompass discography. Hey - my laziness may have just paid off! What if we called it a Discopedia?
Guitar Tabs- Eventually I'm thinking of moving them into the 'pedia too. No point in maintaining what is essentially a second discography minus singles. Thoughts?
Audio/Video/Pics - I like that grouping, but I'd call it Multimedia methinks.
Forum - would move it under main page.
Links - actually, I need someone to do this. I think I asked Carl at some point, but maybe not. Anyway, I need someone to manage the links if they're interested.
About - good call. That all fits there nicely.
In short, yes, I like that organization MUCH better, thanks.

Yeah, or Qsdglkhfbnc if you're looking for something REALLY incomprehensible... :)

I imagine so. That's one of those things I can't do anything about, but if it's any consolation, the site would probably be gone now were it not for the people (like you, and me in fact) who donated money. I'm crossing my fingers, Dave still has lots of prizes to be giving away...
