T or F:
Do heroin users barf every time they use? My friend told me they do. If this is true, that takes wanting/needing to get high to a level I would have never, ever, considered possible.
In my life I have probably puked one time for every 100 times I have gotten super drunk- and that's too much puking in my opinion! This can't be true.
p.s. The word "Barf" is one of the funniest words to write/look at. |

Dear ScottP, I've never known anyone who threw up when they used; it can happen on rare occasions I've heard, especially if they drink a lot before or after using. |

I know what you mean, ScottP, I hate puking, and I've been lucky- for all the times I've been drunk I've only puked twice, and there was only one time when I puked after dope, and that time I think it was from a new source and stronger than I expected, plus I had drank a beer too. |

I remember a little Frank interview in NME a few years back, where he was asked what was the worst thing he ever done while drunk, and he said "Throw up, I suppose. I've only done that a couple of times. I hate the nausea you feel before vomiting."

Wow, thanks for the reply Jimmy.
I took too many percocets and/or drank too much beer about 3 months ago and barfed.
Not only does it feel physically bad, but I feel all guilty and irresponsible when I barf nowadays. I'm almost 40. Not supposed to be gettin all F'ed up and barfin'. Ha! |

Since there aren't any new questions yet, I'm just going to throw out some random advice.
( I had mentioned this one in another thread, but it's worth repeating: ) Generally, People who are trusting are trustworthy; People who are always suspicious are not.
It is impossible to talk someone out of being in love with someone that they should clearly avoid. I've tried in the past, when friends would complain about their relationships, and nothing ever worked. That's just the way people are- good people are drawn to bad people because they think that they can change them somehow. ( I'm finally seeing this for myself- I'm behaving so stupidly, someone should lock me up; I'm just begging for trouble. )
While I believe everyone is capable of change, most likely it's not going to happen. People rarely change on purpose, and once they get past, say 25, they don't change at all.
Mostly, girls want to date guys who are complete assholes. I'm not complaining, I'm not blaming anybody, & there's no need for this to change- it's just the way the world is.
I'm not saying this to piss anyone off, these are just things that I have found to be true. If you don't believe me, that's fine, but at least consider the possibilty that I'm right, and keep these things in mind.

Dearest jimmy, Does having correct advice corming out of your pores hurt? I imagine it would.
also, I'm approaching the 500 post mark, but I don't seem to be as happy as I should be. Is there something wrong with me?

Dear mr. biscuitdoughhead, Thank you for asking, but, no, it doesn't hurt at all, of course nothing hurts me. As you may know, I've already gone beyond the 500 post mark, and I have to say: it's just a number; now I'm looking forward to 1000. So there's probably nothing wrong with you. |

Dear jimmy, another question, my post count doesn't seem to go up, even though I have made more posts. NOW is there something wrong with me?
[edit]It just went up to 499. I better make my next post especially good. [edit again]I'm at 500 and I do feel I sort of accomplished something. Not much though.

I have a problem, jimmy. Why do noobs and cum sponges think 8/31/06 is "October of last year"?
But seriously, I have a real problem: I often find myself thinking Foreigner was a great band. Should I seek professional counseling?
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Dear jimmy,
Why did you go away for a while? Why does the greatest music forum of all feel like it's dying? Is it just one of those things where it's great for a while, then suddenly sucks? Is FB's new manager going to give a shit about this forum?
I have no right to answer questions here, but these are the facts: Foreigner was not a great band. Journey, however, was. Foreigner really wanted to be Journey, and failed in the long run.

Where did my post go? I wrote a post saying the forum isn't dying but that all the action is in the FB live section. Did I put my post in some other thread? I hate when I misplace my posts.

Dear coastline, I always get Foreigner and Journey confused, they both sound the same to me. It's only when I see Sean in their videos when I say "Oh, it's Foreigner".

Dear jimmy,
Thanks for the reply.
I hope you're right. This forum was jumpin' hot from about when they started the podcasts and then especially hot when Bluefinger leaked.
Since then, the forum pioneers have gone awol, and FB has gotten a new manager. Where it seems like Ken Goes would at least feed this forum some insider news and give us some credibility, we haven't heard word one from the new manager. I don't even know if we know who the new manager is.
This development makes me cranky.

‘Pioneers’ wow! – you make them seem wonderfully heroic. I will now think of them as being like Brigham Young or Lewis and Clark - firm of jaw, gimlet eyed individuals unbowed by adversity ready to tame the blogosphere.
If you think that the forums gone lame and the ‘pioneers’ have gone awol, then its up to people like you Jefrey to help take up the slack.

Don't take it personal, Srisaket. What Jefrey's getting at is that Brian and Dean, who (with help) run the forum and the website and the podcasts, have been pretty much absent for some time now. (They have their own lives to attend to.) And without the official news coming in through them, there is less for us to chew over. I'm not saying this to chastise Brian and Dean, just to explain to you how valuable they are to the Frank Black experience. The forum's actually doing just fine; it's mainly the website that's suffering from staleness. It'll be back, rest assured. For now, I suggest you learn French and read Blackolero. Or if you know French, can you translate the site for me?
Please pardon me, for these my wrongs. |

Hey, you know, I am trying. I'm not a quitter. But aside from posting pics of my shoes and possibly sunglasses, I don't feel I have much to offer.
The thing is, if I, say, make a podcast, I already know what the content is going to be and I probably won;t even listen to it. It's much more exciting for other people to create entertainment for me, and then be entertained by it.
I think I'm just going through post-Bluefinger-traumatic-stress-letdown. I mean, a couple of the new White Stripes songs are good, but damn. I guess the new New Pornographers is on the horizon.
