....But then after you heard them, you wish you got into them sooner.

One of mine is the Who another is Meat Beat Manifesto (it sounded so yucky).

The Golden Virgins. Their album Songs Of Praise was one of my favourites of 2004.

I don't know, I'm always checking out virgins... certainly golden ones.

I know, it made me groan too.

Broken Social Scene at first made me uninterested in ever hearing them, but now they are one of my favorite bands.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah turned me off. then i saw them on conan and was apalled at their horribleness. seriously, use your tongue when you make sounds with your mouth!

Totally, someone tried to get me into them in about '95 and I judged them solely by their Chocolate and Cheese album cover which I wrote off as some kitschy 90's alternative crap. Maybe I should have listened to the music because now I'm hailing the mighty Boognish with the rest of the legions.

I've known someone who didn't want to listen to Pinback because he hated the name. Most of Rob Crow's bands have terrible names (Optiganally Yours, Goblin Cock, there's even one named Fantasy Mission Force...) but I'm very fond of the guy and would definitely recommend getting past that and hearing the music. Even with Goblin Cock (in this case, you also have to get past the album cover).

Honestly, I think pretty much the opposite about Nirvana. Good name, overrated band.

a band i keep seeing loads about is The Holloways.

I should explain that Holloway Road (where i live) I a big, well known road in North London. And its a dump.

Why would you name your self after such a place? And im pretty sure they are from near here, cos they play in the local area a lot.

I havent seen them, nor do i want to.

The Holloways formed in Nambucca, a big pub up the Holloway Road. Nice pub, but the band suck. I saw them the other day, very much along the lines of the Libertines et al, pork-pie hats and all, but with even less interest.
