A lot of the syrups they sell at stores and have at restaurants are really just corn syrup.

I swear I'll see Saska and you'll see Frogski. The only question is, when? It's a bit too soon to decide but I agree, May would be the ideal time. And I'm an idealist :)

Maple syrup winds up missing
2006-07-08 11:46:27

Truckloads of maple syrup valued at more than one (m) million dollars have gone missing from a Quebec warehouse. Thieves apparently used heavy trucks to make off with a thousand barrels of golden syrup sometime over the past few days. The theft happened at a facility operated by the controversial Quebec federation of maple syrup producers in Scott-Jonction, 50 kilometres south of Quebec City.
In a radio interview several of the federation's directors suggested the robbery may have been committed by disenchanted workers in the sector. The Surete du Quebec is investigating. Since 2002, there has been a running battle between several producers and the federation, which has instituted limits on the sale and production of syrup. A 23 (m) million kilogram surplus is reportedly sitting in three federation warehouses.

I've never tasted maple syrup, but that hasn't stopped me composing a poem in it's honour:

Oh maple leaf, oh maple leaf,
You are so sweet, you are so sweet...

Er, that's it.
