| Dick Dale! I can remember being a kid and Mr. Dale wanting to build a barge in Newport Harbor where he could have his band "just jammin'" as he put it ...right, in the county of the John Wayne Airport? Good luck Dick! |

probably the same reason frank is swoon-worthy - he's a genius. plus he has that swarthy, "i'll murder any man that looks at you and then write a really graphic song about it" thing going on. and he named his son jethro.

someone told me that Dick Dale once wrote a song for the Space Mountain ride at Disneyland, which he composed specifically for the ride, like a soundtrack. apparently they used it for a while but then people complained that it was too "intense"..
i heard it was awesome.
that's my Dick Dale anecdote |
