They walked quite near the watchers beneath the tree, swinging lanterns which made soft and crazy lights dance among the trees and grass, chattering contentedly, and actually singing a song about how terribly nice everything was, how happy they were, how much they enjoyed working on the farm, and how pleasant it was to be going home to see their wives and children, with a lifting chorus to the effect that the flowers were smelling particularly nice at this time of year and that it was a pity the dog had died seeing as it liked them so much. Arthur could almost imagine Paul McCartney sitting with his feet up by the fire one evening, humming it to Linda and wondering what to buy with the proceeds, and thinking probably Essex.

Try saying that sentence 10 times very fast.

And just as a sidenote regarding kathryn's quip regarding Ringo, he actually was an excellent drummer. When I was younger I myself had said that Ringo wasn't that great of a drummer. But the more I listened and the more I read into the band, I saw that they couldn't have had a better drummer. He played exactly what the songs needed for a solid foundation. He wasn't an attention whore like a lot of drummers are today. I think Ringo and Scott are similar in that respect.
That was my point, that's why I mentioned Scott.

I like McCartneys' "Wonderful Christmas" song. Whenever I hear that corny ass keyboard intro it makes me smile. It takes big ol' balls to put out music that crappy.

And when you listen to his first two albums (McCartney and Ram) you start to pick up on the brutal genius of his songwriting. That's why I like Chaos & Creation so much; it really taps that early-Macca ass.

Incidentally, has anyone else heard that live from the board recording of Linda McCartneys' backing vocals during "Hey Jude". Laughably awful or awfully laughable, which ever you prefer. I'll post it if I can find the link.
