Still no precise release date for the upcoming 50 Foot Wave EP "Free Music", which, as the title suggests, will be distributed for free. But it should be available very soon. Here's an update band manager Billy O'Connell posted yesterday on the ThrowingMusic.com (brand new) message board (replying to fans wondering if they would be able to buy the EP in CD form):
quote:
For the record, we're trying to have very inexpensive CDs manufactured for those that want them...but they do sorta defeat the purpose. I'd much prefer you guys to set up a CD tree here -- and to that end, please feel free to contact me if Throwing Music or I can help in any way.
If you're worried about the money thing, the best thing you can do to help is spread the word about this music by sharing CDs and mp3s, reposting the tracks on p2p services, and seeding Torrents. We're saying that we'll trade money for enthusiasm and effort. Beyond that, if you are bound and determined to pay for this stuff -- there's always the "Donation" button on the Free Music page.
As for audio quality, we will be making the Ep available in lossless FLAC format via OurMedia.org, Archive.org and BitTorrent (as well as 256k mp3s). So that shouldn't be an issue if you've got the bandwidth.
And Dave Narcizo is working on cover art right now.

Excitement! Cool about Dave as well: has he done other artwork that I might know?

Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it too. The two tracks I've heard (and you two too I guess) are great, not quite as heavy as Golden Ocean.

Dave has done artwork for the first two 50 Foot Wave releases, as well as for Kristin's "Sunny Border Blue" and "Murder, Misery and Then Goodnight".

You bet. When BillyO says "Jump", I say "Can I give you money first?"

This is very cool. I can't wait to hear the new stuff. I listen to Golden Ocean all the time and each time I love it even more. |
