Okay, let's see how many Pixies songs we can come up with that they have never played live... Silver |

FROM THE RECORDS :

I'd put money on them not having played this:
The Thing.
I'd be surprized if they'd played these:
Bailey's Walk. Santo. The Navajo Know. Theme From Narc. Evil Hearted You. Letter To Memphis (Instrumental). Born In Chicago.
I'm not sure about these:
Rock A My Soul. Down To The Well. Build High. Oh my Golly! Brick Is Red. Weird At My School. Velvety (Instrumental Version). Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons. Lovely Day.
They've probably played these:
Cecilia Ann. Blown Away. Down To The Well. I've Been Waiting For You. Winterlong. Letter To Memphis. Space (I Believe In). Distance Equals Rate Times Time.

In 1991 and 1992, they played The Happening and the outro section was The Thing.

They did play The Navajo Know a few times, notably at their "last" concert at the Commodore Ballroom.

Rock A My Soul. Down To The Well. Build High. Oh my Golly! Brick Is Red. Weird At My School. Velvety (Instrumental Version). Bird Dream Of The Olympus Mons. Lovely Day.[/quote]
They played these songs live. Rock A My Soul was played in 1987,the same goes for Down To The Well in 1987 and 1988. And remember the John Peel Session from 1989 ! Build High was played during the 1987 tour and a few times in 1988 (at the Foufounes Electriques for instance). The last ones were all played a numerous times...

Space and I've Been were sadly never played... Down to the Well, see below. Otherwise, they played all these songs. Winterlong was played in 2004 in the first place. |

Thanks-they actually played The Thing! I thought a lot of those probably were played. I was thinking some of the purple tape stuff was probably played in the early days. I would'nt really count a radio session as a live performance, but as you pointed out, they have played Down To The Well at shows!

Was Santo ever played live? It's one of my favourite B-Sides. I would love to hear a live version but if they've never performed it the chances of this are pretty slim, wouldn't you say?
Oh and ccuadros, thanks for Brick Is Red. I'd never heard this live either.

Ccuadros, that is one of the best uploads, I can't wait to listen to that!! Thank you very much.
Yeah, stu, I would'nt think it likely that Santo has been played.

They've played Velvety (instrumental). On the Bossanova tour, they opened with it when I saw them in Chicago. |

they have never ever played these:
OH MY GOLLY! BAILEY'S WALK MAKE BELIEVE THEME OF NARC I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU EVIL HEARTED YOU SANTO SILVER SPACE (I BELIEVE IN) THE THING
the thing is the outro for "The Happening" but it's still different, so they never really played it as "The Thing". |

Honestly, I wonder why they haven't played all of them. They're all really good. Who knows? |

I'm not really sure about this one - "Dig For Fire" ? Has it ever been attempted? Does anyone have a live copy? |

Dig For Fire has been played live. There was a live version posted on the 'send me some frank' thread. Maybe if you ask on there someone will re-post it.
I would do it, but I'm not sure how, I'm afraid. Hope this has helped.

Manta Ray's been played live (if anyone wants to hear just say the word), the only band version of 'Dancing the Manta Ray' i've heard was by the Catholics. |

Without looking I'm not 100% sure, but I think there's a snatch of a live version of Dancing The Manta Ray on the "On The Road" bit of the 4AD dvd. |

Aren't the Pixies playing 'Dancing the Manta Ray' at some point on the 'On the road' section of the DVD? I think we only catch the last few seconds of it though.
