I don't know Bob Allen, but I did buy an arran sweater (that I've never worn), in Galway once...? Actually, I think it was in Killarney.. which might not be in Galway... |

Wow, thanks for all the replies. I bought my tickets and arrive in Belfast on the 15th of November. Now, to attempt to answer/retort where appropriate...
Alright, I will make Galway my stop in Western Ireland. Thanks for the tip on that one. As for Scotland, as Denis cleverly recalled, I've been there already and while I loved it (Loch Ness was a highlight of my trip, coupled of course with meeting good ol' Andy in Edinburgh for some malt) time is short and it's a little far on the north side.
Bazza, email has been sent/received. I will make a stop in Manchester and would be very grateful for a place to crash for a day or two if only to meet some FB.Net cohorts. I'd love to get to a Breeders gig, I have to find out about times/places, but I'm definitely in if I don't have to warp the space-time continuum (again) to get there. Would love to meet you, Jo, don't know if I can make it to York, but we shall see. Maybe with less time in Liverpool (I have to do at least a few hours of Beatles' homage). And do some heavy gigging with anyone who will have me. I got to meet Carl Newman when he was in Saskatoon touring for his solo album, but I'm afraid I rather grilled him and he may spit on me if I return to a NP gig. So definitely count me in on that! I'm just kidding, we got along fine... I just need times and dates, if you can post those here that would be very appreciated.
Tre, don't worry, the drinks are remembered (and I think I probably owe you another one for the past few months around here and my absence/etc but I'll apologize for the song db stuff in person once you're too drunk to get upset at me). I will be in London regardless, so there's no worry on that. I also have a few non-FB.Net friends to meet there and about (one lives in Gillingham for example). I know, a life outside of FB.Net, hard to believe...
Anyway, thanks for the tips again Tre, and I'll check that old thread too if I can find it. Oh, and Carl, drop me an email and we'll definitely have to meet up in Dublin.
So, in summary, THANKS and I look forward to meeting as many of you as is humanly possible. Dates/times/shows would earn you a tip of the hat from me were I to wear one, particularly the show(s) you're already going to (ala Breeders, ...)
PS I'm not going to entertain the sheep (this time). Too much wool-clot last time around... (I can't believe I just typed that)

That's just the one gin & tonic then.
If you're still in London after the Breeders, and there's still tickets, Kristin Hersh is playing: Monday 21st November all Throwing Muses songs; Tuesday 22nd all solo songs. I'll be at the first if you need to pick one to avoid...

Sounds like I picked my itinerary backwards, should've started in London and gone to Ireland. Now I'm going to be in Ireland for all these shows. Which, admittedly, DOES serve as a nice excuse for some Cheevasion.

No, no, it should be tom-ay-to, I know. I was purposely italicizing an incorrect pronounciation as a way of indicating the wrongness of Cheeseness. :)

Pleased to report that I met every single Irish Frank Black fan in existence, and the four of us sat around a few local tables having beers and enjoying ourselves thoroughly. The Barrys and Carls of the world should rejoice at these three fine examples of, well, Barrys and Carls. They've all been more hospitable and/or friendly than can possibly be expected. I hope to run across them yet once more before I leave this island of (mis)adventure.
As for those of you in the Manchester/N. England area, I'm coming to a neighbourhood near you, if all goes according to plan, by Friday I hope. Anyone still up for a meeting and/or accomdations? :)
Cheerio and see you soon!

The ticketing policy is very strict though for this Saturday so you would have to get there before 9. You may have ot hurry up if you want a Wolf Parade ticket too (look on seetickets under Black Mountain, they are co-headlining with Dead Meadow).
I have band practice on Friday but I can meet you after, and you are more than welcome to stay at mine over the weekend.
I'd walk her everyday, into a shady place
