Hi team,

Can anyone help me with the lyrics. I've tabbed it out but I can work out all the lyrics. I'll whack 'em in and then upload the lot.

Many thanks,

Josh

I knew a girl with four feet of hair
And her eyes they actually did shine bright
But she wouldn't have some (french wine?)
I was nearly just out of her sight

You can't ever change her mind
No, you can't save the preachers daughter
And the lord knows I've been trying everyday
I will never get through to you
Aw but honey if I do
I'll be singing all the way
I'll be singing all the way

Days in the sun they made her skin brown
And she grew up just like a ( ? )
She got so high and I was so down
She wanted a much taller man

You can't ever change her mind
No, you can't save the preachers daughter
And the lord knows I've been trying everyday
I will never get through to you
Aw but honey if I do
I'll be singing all the way
I'll be singing all the way

BRIDGE

I knew a boy who lay in the field
And he thought of another time
But now here I am and I can almost feel
Her legs pressed up next to mine

You can't ever change her mind
No, you can't save the preachers daughter
And the lord knows I've been trying everyday
I will never get through to you
Aw but honey if I do
I'll be singing all the way
I'll be singing all the way
I'll be singing all the way

Thanks for making me listen again to this beauty. I think the end of 3rd line is "vin ordinaire" (ordinary wine).

It's definitely "vin ordinaire".
And I think the other one is rattan.

I think we have some winners. Thanks guys.
Rattan: Any of various climbing palms of the genera Calamus, Daemonorops, or Plectomia of tropical Asia, having long, tough, slender stems.
vin ordinaire: as per Denis's definition
