Anyone here into text adventures? There is still a subculture playing and writing them.

There WAS a Maniac Mansion 2? What happened in it? I played the original on the Nintendo, but I don't think the sequel was ever ported to that system.

Oh, Nathan, you don't know what you've lost. Nothing to do with the first Maniac Mansion. Awesome graphics, simply incredible. Nothing have been made in 320x200 pixels that could compare with it.

Doesn't it get expensive playing by text?

I remember we talked about text games before, Teresa. Sadly, you're right. You need time to play them. I met once with a guy who wrote them. He sure was special.

I feel like I could.. like I could.. like I could... TAKE ON THE WORLD!

I did change my sig but thought it might get annoying...
I miss the text adventures though, they used to keep me entertained for hours as an insomniac kid.
Have spent some time playing sam n max this afternoon.
It was great.

Didn't know you were an insomniac kid.

Yeah, shit!! Those game clocks really rub it in!! I don't think I could ever play those FF games again. Too time consuming!

My biggest time eaters were Civ, Civ II, Starcraft, and Age of Empires with probably the most time spent on Civ II.

Age of Empires III and Civ IV are both out in the next couple of months. Not sure about AoE, but I'll definitely get Civ4. I think they've changed the view a bit, more 3D, and they've increased the religious aspects so that you can convert cities.

It's purple tentacle!

I used to quite naively use purple tentacle as the pub quiz team name.
I thought about it after, realised... not so good.

Yesterday I bought (BOUGHT!) "Diviértete con los Lunnis".

And all the drugs that I don't have the guts to take
To soothe my mind so I'm always sober
Always aching, always heading towards
Mass suicide, occult figurines
