We have some semi-apocalyptic storms going on here, which are always fun. So, some storm-related songs.
The Storm - Tanya Donelly Gathering Storm - Godspeed You Black Emperor! Thunder, Lightning Strike (album) - The Go! Team Tupelo - Nick Cave Gimme Shelter - Rolling Stones Prayers For Rain - The Cure
And for afters: Dark Clouds - Space

The greatest song ever: "It's Raining Men" by The Weathergirls. And the Queer As Folk soundtrack remix is amyl-nitrate-riffic.
"Rainy Day, Dream Away" and "Still Raining, Still Dreaming" off of Hendrix' amazing Electric Ladyland.

Where in London are you Simon? We had a storm here in Kingston yesterday that blew up some electrics- sparks and all. Not surprising, since our fusebox looks pre-Great War. The lights don't work at the moment. Had a big one today that just wouldn't go away.
Storm related songs: Weather Systems - Andrew Bird Blue Turning Grey - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Surprise Ice - Kings of Convenience

Friern Barnet, Tom, way up North. We had some rain and all yesterday, but the full-on storm hit as I was leaving Tesco this afternoon. It's odd - yesterday, it was storming something chronic in Balham and Wandsworth, but they were still playing at the Oval. It's only a couple of miles down the road.
Tell you what, I've never been so glad of the rain as at 2am this morning, coming out of the Garage. There's hot, then there's too hot.

here's a good politically incorrect one:
new orleans is sinking - tragically hip
"I joined the Cult of Frank/ cause I'm a real go-getter!" |

Gordie, baby, I know exactly what you mean. Been listening to it all week and loving it and feeling guilty.
