Why do you want great performances? They're only there to be smashed and crushed in various colorful ways.

Blue Crush was a terrible movie in my defence: it was sneak preview, so I didn't know what I would get
Forrest Gump is one of my favourite movies though

I will actually watch that one day, as my favourite girl (looks-wise) is in it. Michelle Rodriguez in case you are wondering.

The Cube was a great idea, badly executed I thought. I am still mulling over the possibly stupid idea of renting the sequel and prequel.

i thought the biggest weakness of CUBE was some of the writing (dialog that is) and some weak performances. but the overall script was cool and it was a smart idea, from a low-budget standpoint. |

Yeah I would agree with that I guess. Although the ending was a bit crud as I remember.

When I decide to go to the movies I'm usually pretty sure it's gonna be a good movie so I can't remember a time I've been disappointed.
But I did see (and it wasn't my fault-it was the people I went with) at least two of the "Scary Movie" movies- movies that I wouldn't even have wanted to rent. But I really hate these movies. They're so lame it makes me angry. They really are stupid movies made by stupid people. |

Oh! Oh! I rented some years ago a japanese gore movie, Dr. Whatever. That one was bloody awful, a terrorist act against the world of cinema.

I liked cube. In a trashy way.
Oh! Worst film I ever paid to see has to be battle royale II, what a piece of crap that was.

Ouch... I saw Battle Royale II and it was a huge pile of shit indeed. Didn't pay for it though, it's the same guy who has all the crappy DVDs (the one I mentioned in the other thread) who gave it to us.

I had such hopes, I saw it talked about on adam and joe do tokyo and I thought how cool... they pair up.. double head explosions on the neckbands....
how disappointed I was, that it was utter shit. I really liked battle royale, damn the guy for dying and letting his hippy son do the sequel.

There's almost no action after the arrival on the island, during which 90% of the participants die anyway. It's talk, talk, talk (lame dialog, badly filmed) and then they run to some other place and do more talk. Kitano's credited on the DVD cover although he appears for like 20 seconds, and the new villain is worse than, let's say, Ahnold in Batman 4. Avoid it at all costs, Mike.

I'd like to see the first one, anyway. I've been tempted to buy the original manga books, but I never did!

I liked it, it was a bit disappointing though. The director's cut is finally coming out on region 2 DVD next month! |

I forgot about this one. The Royal Tenenbaums, I didn't laugh once during this stinker despite the great cast. And I Heart Huckabees, pure pseudo-intellectual excrement. My friend told me they were "cerebral comedies" and that I should get a clue. You know what I told her? "Stuff it!" |
